"Albuquerque Plumbing was prompt, fully described recommended system, was fully responsive to our desires regarding electrical wiring and drainage locations. Crew arrived on promised date and installation went smoothly. Slight glitch regarding mistakenly not completely turning tankless water heater back on was immediately addressed by installation crew when notified. System functioning as advertised. "Cannot say enough good things about CSM. After having lived in New Mexico for over 10 years Iâ ve been underwhelmed with the level of service from the artisan contractor arena. That all changed with CSM. They showed up to the give an estimate on time. The provided me needed information in a timely manner. They put me on their schedule to fit a tight timeline I needed to hit. Their work was amazing. Super clean loom toy he install. Printed labels for the new breaker. Apt and capable for the work they were asked to do. I feel that their rates were competitive but based on the results their value is off the charts. BTW at the end of the job the left the area immaculately clean."

"We hired this company to install an EV charging station and couldn’t be happier with the experience. The electrician was knowledgeable, professional, and took the time to explain the process and answer questions. The installation was clean, code-compliant, and completed on schedule with no surprises. Everything works perfectly, and the work area was left spotless. I would absolutely recommend this company to anyone needing EV charger installation or other electrical work."

"Larry and his colleagues did a terrific job installing three ceiling fans and two recessed lights! This wasn't simply installing fans on existing wiring...it required wiring, installation of outlets, switches and dimmers. I was extremely pleased with pricing, the technical service and professional manner with which Larry oversaw and worked this project. Many thanks and highly recommended! Will continue to do work with this professional!"

"I think I have found my forever Electrician! In my area, it is hard to find reliable contractors. Mike was incredibly knowledgeable and punctual! If he sets up a time with you, he shows up before you. He’s very quick to get invoices and cost emailed to you as well. I found his pricing to be incredibly reasonable and fair. When it came to job completion, Mike was Johnny on the spot. He came in and handled his business and got out without any mishaps. I of course, inspected after he installed my switches, ceilings, fans, lights, and wired all my new receptacles. This man is an artist. Everything was incredibly clean and well laid out. He actually puts love in pride into what he does! I’m very happy with my service and I absolutely will be using him again! Thanks Mike for kicking butt and getting that project knocked out! It looks amazing and I couldn’t be happier!"

Generator Install questions, answered by experts

Whole-house generators need to be installed on level ground several feet away from walls and other objects. Because they tap into the electrical system directly, they usually need to be close to your home electrical panel for a transfer switch installation. It also helps with installation if they are near to a gas line or propane tank installation.

While natural gas generators are costly, they’re a great option for standby power due to the reliability of natural gas as a fuel source. Unlike other fuels, natural gas is delivered through underground pipes, making outages extremely rare and less likely to be affected by the elements. As long as the area isn’t prone to earthquakes, they offer an unlimited supply of natural gas that doesn’t degrade over time or require storage in tanks.

As a safety measure, you should always turn off the main breaker while operating your generator’s backup breaker. In addition, you should also switch off all appliance breakers so you don't have a power surge when the main breaker turns back on. And finally, turning off the main breaker prevents back-feeding, which endangers utility workers with the risk of electrocution. Back-feeding could also destroy the electrical circuits of your neighbors if they use the same power network.

To reduce AC startup power for a whole-house generator, install a soft start kit or hard start capacitor, which lowers the initial surge by gradually ramping up the compressor. Using a smart load manager can also help by staggering startup loads, preventing a system overload and future costly repairs.

Generators are safe to use as long as they are installed and operated correctly according to the manufacturer's recommendations. The most critical safety tips are to never use a portable or fuel-powered generator inside an enclosed space due to the risk of lethal carbon monoxide poisoning; always operate it outdoors where fumes can dissipate away from your home. Additionally, never attempt to connect a generator to your home’s electrical panel yourself—hire a professional to ensure the setup meets safety standards. Finally, avoid overloading the generator by not connecting more appliances than it is rated for, as this can damage your equipment or cause a fire.
