"My experience was very easy going with Allstate. I called in looking for a new fence to built. They sent a guy out to do an estimate for me. I wasn't able to attend the estimate due to my hectic work schedule but 2 days later they had me a proposal. I liked the pricing and how quick and painless everything went so we decided to have it built. The crew came on a Monday to tear down my old fence and set new posts. They then returned on Wednesday to finish building it. They moved quickly and got it all done on Wednesday. The metal frame gates are terrific. There's not a way for them to sag and break like my old gates which is a big deal. Allstate sent some other guys out on Thursday to pick up my used fence and that was the end. I couldn't be more satisfied with how everything went."

"We decided to just change out the gates. I will hire them when my parents are ready to do the work. I was very impressed by Paul who did the estimate and explained a few things. Great communication and service with Premier Fence! Thank you"

"Daisy and her team did a great job! We had two rotting gates with crumbling cement that they fixed no problem. Our gates work now and look amazing! They were super accommodating to our busy schedule and very easy to communicate with. I highly recommend!"

"We've had our double swing Driveway gates installed for two years now. I'm a 'do-it-your-selfer' and installed it myself. We opted for the solar-powered package in order to save money on electricity. When talking with the Sales Dept, at NO point did they mention that the solar panels might not give enough voltage to power the gates during the winter or on cloudy, overcast days. We've had only problems on these days: Gates open/close extremely slow or not at all. This requires us to go through the steps to put the gates into manual mode to open/close, which needless to say, is very inconvenient when it's raining! I've contacted the Tech dept many times via email or phone, for information and to troubleshoot. Dave and his predecessor are/were both helpful and patient. Customer service has been slow, or they haven't returned my calls. Emails go unanswered or a reply comes far later than it should and after the issue is a moot point. When bringing up our issues with our expensive gates to both Sales, Customer Service, Tech, and the Owner, they'll suggest upgraded equipment or parts, but they have to be purchased. At no point have they ever offered any parts or upgrades for free because we've had such an overwhelming time getting these gates to function the way their website and videos claim they will. We now have paid for an electric hook-up, and once the transformer arrives(which is late!), we only hope these gates will work the way the company claims they will."

Gate Repair questions, answered by experts

Installation typically takes 1-3 days, depending on the gate type and site conditions.

When making this decision, three essential factors come into play. For budget-conscious individuals, swing gates are the more economical choice. Despite the possibility of both gate types having similar dimensions, many types of sliding gates demand a more intricate opening mechanism and additional components, requiring electrical work for motors and signaling remotes, resulting in higher installation costs.

A gate shouldn’t be higher or lower than the fence it's attached to. If the gate is lower than the fence, it encourages strangers to peek at your property. If the gate is higher than the fence, it just looks weird. Gates allow for increased security and aesthetics, so ensure the gate rests at the same height as the fence.

It can cost $100 to $500 to purchase and install a gate opener. You can use ready-made kits that come with DIY instructions. If you hire a professional gate installer to handle the job, expect to pay an average of $100 per hour or between $200 and $500.

Features include automation, intercoms, keypads, and decorative elements. Custom options enhance security and style.
