"Paid $200 for Asbestos testing. The guy was here for about 3 minutes. Left particles from the ceiling all over the place. Did not wear any kind of PPE besides a cloth mask. Did not take any precautions, you should take while handling possible asbestos which leads me to believe he did not think he was handling hazardous material and charged me just for fun. He even stated the materials look like they have the characteristics of asbestos. The test came back negative, FYI."

"I called Saturday, Steve contacted me Monday morning, came out to my house, and then fixed the problem quickly and smoothly. He'd kept parts in his shop for the older models, so all went very well.
Steve and the young man who came with him were friendly and explained clearly what was wrong, what they planned to do about it, and then they did it.
One of the best repair workmen experiences I've ever had.

Radon Detection and Reduction questions, answered by experts

Use a radon test kit or hire professionals to conduct a detailed assessment of radon levels in your home.

There are steps you can take as a homeowner to remediate radon yourself. While a radon reduction professional can make the biggest impact in your home, you can make efforts to improve radon levels on your own by sealing cracks, increasing ventilation, and testing for radon regularly.

Radon is a cancer-causing radioactive gas that poses serious health risks, infiltrating homes through foundation cracks and unnoticed spaces.

Your radon mitigation system may be loud because it’s time to replace it. Any sounds are usually from the inline fan that helps create the vacuum and resulting airflow. If you hear a new, loud mechanical or humming noise from your radon fan, it might be time to replace it. Most fans used in radon mitigation systems last up to 10 years, but may need to be replaced sooner.

Testing every 2-5 years or upon adjusting occupancy or structural changes maintains safe environments.
