An easy way to know whether your sand filter has enough sand is to check how full the filter is and what the sand looks and feels like. With a regular pool, the water is contained by visible walls that are higher than the water level. An infinity pool has one or more walls that are right at the waterline so they're not truly visible. For an invisible look, the lower wall is often made of glass or clear acrylic. The water laps over the lower edge and into a catch basin below where it gets pumped back into the pool.

If your pool takes longer than one or two days to fill, you might be dealing with low water pressure. Using a water pressure gauge on your outdoor tap, you can check your water pressure. A reading of 40 psi or below is considered low. A leak, a nearby water shutoff, or several other reasons could cause this. 

If the water pressure isn’t a problem, you could have a low flow rate from clogs, corroded pipes, or other plumbing issues. It’s best to call in a local plumber to get to the root of the issue.

There are plenty of ways to heat a pool without a heater. For instance, you can use a solar blanket to help insulate and stabilize the water's temperature, use a pool cover and a dark-colored garden hose, purchase solar rings, or build a windproof enclosure.
