"Adan and his team did a full kitchen cabinet install and custom painting for us in early 2025. I waited a year as I wanted to see how things worked out. We are thrilled with the result. After a year, all drawers work flawlessly and the custom paint has held up beautifully. Top quality materials, excellent problem solving, and very responsive. At one point I was struggling to get a drawer back in place after removing it, and Adan talked me though it over the phone. Highly recommend."

"We went to Southwest Countertops to select a granite countertop. Liz was helpful and worked with our budget. I could not be more thrilled about the selection we made and the great assistance the staff was. Liz was knowledgeable, professional, and communicated to us about the installation of our counters. Weve used her for two kitchen remodels and recommend her to others."

"I recently did business with Davis Kitchens. My small kitchen had the cabinets
remodeled. Although I started the
planning in November or December of ’13
I understood that when I finally got around to actually planning we
needed to re measure and re-plan. I did
not appreciate it when I was told over and over what a poor job the previous
Davis planner had done. It makes you
wonder when one employee criticizes another.

In any case we redid and re-planned. I was emailed the drawings promptly and
through a series of redraws we eventually decided on the final plan after some
condescension from Brian. I was
planning to be out of the country for about a month so I paid to have the
cabinets ordered and we would be ready to start when I returned. I discovered the cabinets had not been
ordered. I was told they would now be
ordered. There were some delays and the
communication between Davis and the contractor was not good causing delays in
scheduling.

Davis simply does not return calls on the first, second and
sometimes the third. It usually took me
3 times to get a response to my messages.
Several times I visited in person to get answer to a question.

The job did get done eventually. The glass doors on one cabinet were missed and there was quite a
wait for them. The installation was completed well by DessertStone, the
contractor. The communication with
Davis and the contractor was not ideal, however.

I decided to add glass doors to another of the
cabinets. I called Davis and spoke to
Gloria. After quite a wait, which
included information that Davis did not have service personnel to make needed
adjustments to the cabinets. I agreed
to wait for the adjustments until the doors
arrived. We started the process again
of calling with no response. I did
finally speak to Gloria who said the problem was finding the glass. Several days later I went in person to Davis
and Gloria called for the glass while I was present. We scheduled the install for Monday at 1030. The long awaited adjustments could now be
completed as well.

The coup de gras was a call Friday evening when I was told
Davis could not come for the install on Monday unless I paid the total before
then.

I would rate Davis as a C- and would recommend hiring
a company who has a hunger for business and a can do attitude which are both
lacking at Davis.Kitchen cabinets

Pre Made Cabinets questions, answered by experts

While a three-inch center-to-center handle is common, there’s no guarantee that sizing will be the same for every cabinet. Different types of handles have different sized holes to attach them and there are lots of different cabinet handle widths and styles. You should measure to be sure you know the size of a handle and to avoid surprises.

Solid wood is the most common material for cabinet bases. It’s a popular choice because it’s durable and will hold up over time. Oak, maple, cherry, hickory, and pine are all types of solid wood that can be used to build cabinet bases. Other options include plywood, medium-density fiberboard, and other types of manufactured lumber, but they need to be sealed properly to avoid swelling, separating, and delamination from moisture.

Using a shim or another type of self-leveling feet on the bottom edge of your cabinet bases will help to level them out if you’re installing them on a less-than-level surface. To make this process easier, you can add your shims before attaching the bases to your cabinets while they’re still light and easy to move around.

Most installations take 1-3 days, depending on customization and venting setup.

The cost to install a kitchen island ranges from $900 to $6,500, with an average price of around $4,800. The final cost depends on whether you buy a prefabricated unit or have one custom-built. Prefabricated kitchen islands are generally cheaper. A simple prefabricated cart can cost between $150 and $900, while a permanent, stationary prefabricated island costs from $900 to $5,000. A custom-built kitchen island averages around $4,800 but can cost $10,000 or more depending on factors like materials, size, design complexity, and accessibility.
