"We had two ceiling lamps in our kitchen replaced and the dimmer light switch to our basement replaced with a simple on off switch. Linda who I spoke to on the phone is very friendly and worked with us to meet our schedule. Patrick who did the work was very professional. He did a quality job. And, given that the pricing is by the hour, he kept the three tasks to under an hour which was appreciated. We had a few questions about other jobs and he answered them. Their first hour is normally $155, but we used the Angie's List coupon for $15 off. We will hire Shay Weiman again."

"We had series of electrical jobs for our home, such as socket repairs, chandelier, and floodlight installation and I would say Daniel from Morano Electric did an efficient and great job. Jesse is our point of contact and accommodated our needs as per scope of works. We highly recommend Morano Electric!"

"Alejandro is the best, from start to finish the project went very smooth. When I first contacted him he came for an estimate the following day and gave me a fair price. He showed up to work the following week on time and completed the job quickly. We live in a 100 year old house and the work was challenging, but he had a great attitude and was able to find quick solutions to the challenges. I was so pleased with his work the first time around, I hired him to come back and install new lighting in our basement as well. I would recommend him to anyone, he is honest, quick, professional, and does great work."

"Mike Chambers ' team did an excellent job. My wife and I had a relatively straightforward request - install two quad outlets in a room with only one existing outlook (on a different, but adjacent wall). We got a couple of other estimates in the $1,200 range. In one case, an electrician said he would tap the existing outlet and then would need to cut a channel in the wall to the new outlets. The other said he would have to cut out holes in the drywall at multiple points between the existing and new outlets. In both cases, we would have to repair the drywall, spackle, and paint. Greg from Mike Chambers' came out and suggested tapping an outlet in the room next door. This way, he could snake wires from the existing outlet to the new outlets and would not have to do any damage to the walls. Greg's team ended up doing the job for a fraction of the cost and completed the work in about 35 minutes (the other's estimated a 4-6 hour job). We couldn't believe how painless and relatively inexpensive this project was, especially after the other estimates we received. I would highly recommend Mike Chambers - they are knowledgeable and ethical!"

"This was the second remodeling job for which I hired Peter and Bobby from All -Pro Remodeling and Painting, LLC. Following a magnificent renovation of my master bath, I decided to have our guest bathroom renovated as well. As perfectly as our first bathroom remodel was completed, the second bathroom was just as perfect. Peter and his coworker, Bobby were always prompt and courteous as well as friendly and funny; listening to what I wanted and basically doing things before I even asked because they knew my taste and perfectionistic ideals! From laying out the shower surround tile in a perfect pattern to helping me choose the paint color and fixtures, Peter and Bobby were on point in every decision. Their meticulous attention to detail and neatness would be appreciated by any homeowner who is looking to remodel their home. It is without hesitation that I would highly recommend All-Pro Remodeling for all of your renovation needs. I have included pictures of both the guest bathroom and master bath renovations! I know that I will be working with them in the near future, again!!!"

"It went great... but this company is no longer in business in the US. So we could not have them do the home energy upgrades. If they were still around we likely would have went with them!

Chandelier Installation FAQs, answered by experts

A wall-mounting light fitting is called a sconce. Traditionally, sconces were placed along walls in a home to hold candles or torches for lighting. The electrical counterparts with lightbulbs serve an identical purpose, often lighting up hallways. Sconces come in a wide range of shapes and sizes. Changing a light fixture mounted on a wall requires the same basic steps as replacing a ceiling light.

Solar landscape lighting is the easiest type of outdoor lighting to install. Because these lights don’t require being hardwired to an electrical connection, installation consists of simply staking the lights into the ground, with no wires required. Solar lights are a good option for houses without outdoor outlets or for areas that are much farther from the house itself.

Some types of fixtures might be a little trickier to remove than others, but they’re all relatively basic DIY jobs that should take an hour or less. Identifying the type of light you have is the first step in a safe, simple removal—learn how to remove recessed lights for a quick how-to on taking out one of the more common types of fixtures.

A wafer light lasts about 30,000 to 50,000 hours, depending on the quality and usage. Doing the math translates to approximately 10 to 20 years of regular use. LED wafer lights are known for their energy efficiency and longevity, significantly outlasting traditional incandescent or fluorescent bulbs.

Factors such as usage patterns, operating environment, and stability and consistency of the electrical supply influence their life span. Regular use in a residential setting ensures these lights provide long-term, reliable illumination with minimal maintenance.

Depending on your preference, a 100W bulb could be too bright for a bedroom. Most people prefer softer, relaxing bedroom lighting using a lower wattage bulb, around 40W to 60W for incandescent or the equivalent in LED (around 450 to 800 lumens). For adjustable brightness, consider using dimmable bulbs or layered lighting with bedside lamps and overhead lights to create a comfortable and versatile lighting environment.
