"I hired Central Jersey Tree Services to remove 5 trees, and to prune a tree. Price was very reasonable, and service far exceeded my expectations. The owner is honest, hard-working, and hands-on. They ended up removing four additional dead trees for a nominal charge. Highly recommend this company! I rarely write reviews, but was compelled to write a detailed review for Central Jersey Tree Services, LLC."

"From the time I called Sami's tree services to the time they finished the job, everything is aces dealing with this company. First off, I called them to come over and do an inspection of the work. Sami showed up the following day and provided the quote immediately right after that. Secondly, the quote to take down one tree, including stump work, was very reasonable and competitive compared to the other two tree service LLCs I reached out to. Now, for the actual job. Sami's Landscape services performed the job in the utmost, professional way. They have all the right tools and equipment for the job performed, and the crew are well trained and definitely know what they're doing. I have electrical, cable, and phone lines intertwined into the branches of my 40-ft maple tree, and they meticulously navigated around those wires without any issues. Overall, they met and even exceeded my expectations. I would definitely hire them again for my future tree care needs, and I highly recommend their services."

"Oswalt and the crew at Monkeys Tree Service were great to work with. I used them for a large project in my yard over the summer and did a great job with the work and I was very impressed by their clean up. I brought them back for another smaller project last month and I was just impressed. I received a number of quotes and they were in line with everyone and for the amount of work needed. I'd definitely recommend using them and i'd bring them back for a third time if needed. Maria was very responsive to my calls and always called back in a reasonable time to get on the schedule. Overall a great experience!"

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

Yes, it’s possible to overwater a newly-planted tree. Daily watering is great for the first few weeks, but it’s important not to go overboard. Excessive watering can lead to various problems, including root rot, fungal diseases, and a lack of root development.

The best time to transplant a tree is when it is dormant. For many trees, this means either in the fall after the leaves have dropped (around October or November) or in early spring before new growth begins (around March). The ideal timing can depend on the type of tree. Deciduous trees do well when moved in early spring or fall, while evergreens are best transplanted in early spring or late summer. For example, pine trees are best moved in early fall, but maples prefer late fall. Avoid transplanting in winter, as the frozen or hard, cold soil poses a significant risk to the roots and prevents the tree from acclimating properly.

We recommend removing the stump, and grinding is a popular way to do it. You can also dig out small stumps or stumps that have fully decayed instead of grinding them. However, don’t try using acids or fire for killing a tree stump, which is a fire hazard and illegal in many areas.

Leaving the stump alone invites eventual problems, including attracting termites, mold, and fungi.

Yes, burning wood with Dutch elm disease is a safer way to dispose of it than, say, tossing it in with the rest of your yard waste, which could potentially allow it to spread to healthy trees. But it’s always a good idea to check with your local government to make sure you’re complying with any ordinances about removing diseased trees as well as burning brush piles.

Transplanting a palm tree is a similar process except for a couple of important differences. First, their root ball doesn’t need to be as large as a “true” tree, which makes them a bit easier to dig up and move around. Second, they struggle more with taking root and staying upright in a new location, so it’s important to give them extra support when staking.
