"One of the best companies I've ever dealt with. "Bill" offered information on how to trouble shoot my Vacuflo Central Vacuum System and it worked! Thank you for the great work!"
"The provider was very careful about getting all the airducts cleaned. The only negative was that I had to vacuum all the rooms around the register vents, because there was a lot of debris left on the floors when he was done. My air ducts are cleaner than they have been in years, "
"It was difficult getting Roger into Manhattan. He wasn't prepared to bring his vehicle and supplies into Manhattan. My first appointment had to be rescheduled because he wasn't sure about parking. He had someone wait in the vehicle and he came up and I showed him the projects I needed to get done. He was apologetic but after waiting around for him all afternoon it was very inconvenient to have to reschedule. While he was there he suggested that I mount my TV which I hadn't been planning to do but it was a good idea. He thought that if I wanted to buy the mount he could do it in addition to my other projects. After much going back and forth and resending of my address, Roger arrived for our rescheduled appointment. He came by train so he didn't bring his supplies. My project list included: installing bathroom door handle, checking why my ceiling fan wasn't working and installing the TV mount. He was able to get the door handle installed and the TV mount. Because he didn't have his full tool bag he didn't have the circuit tester. So he was unable to get the ceiling fan working. Before leaving, I showed him my kitchen because in the future I wanted to put down new floor tiles and a backsplash. He suggested a new countertop and said he would bring by samples but I have never heard from him again. He did a good job installing the door handle and the TV but I felt he did not come prepared to do the ceiling fan. This was an Angie's deal so the price was good. I think that was also why he was overbooked and having trouble keeping up with appointments.
"They were wonderful and they know the process about heating and cooling and what the problem was. They really know what they were doing and aside from that the owner, he is a very educated engineer, he is very confident to do his work. They came to check what's the problem and they came the next day with the parts they installed and fix it.They were very professional then they will give you an update and I highly recommend them."
"I called Go Green for an emergency service. Technician arrived less with an hour of call. Abbas (technician) assessed the issue and advise of my options. I decided to proceed with the service offered and my new boiler was installed within hours. The tech was very professional, work area was cleaned and he offered an overview of the new equipment. Thanks GO GREEN for the excellent service, however, the cost was outrageous!!! "

Technically, yes, you could install a central vacuum system on your own, but it is a very difficult DIY. There is a significant amount of planning, cutting into walls, and electrical wiring work that goes into it, which should only be performed by a professional. Because of the difficulty and expense associated with a central vacuum system, it’s worth it to hire a professional company familiar with the installation's complexities.
Experienced professionals don’t usually need to take down drywall to install the central vacuum. They are experienced in working in the tight spaces between walls and in crawl spaces to minimize any damage. The only drywall changes should be the holes cut for the new outlets. However, home design, existing plumbing, and other factors may require some modification. An estimate from a professional contractor should include information if any changes need to be made.
The cost to install a central vacuum cleaner system averages about $1,600, ranging from $1,100 to $2,200, depending on the size of the system, add-on features, your home’s location, and age of the system. Accessibility to running lines and other equipment can also impact the project cost. Consult a central vacuum cleaner installation company for an accurate estimate of your installation cost.
The disadvantages associated with central vacuums start with cost. They are expensive to install, especially in existing homes, as retrofitting requires opening walls. The system's bulky hoses can also be inconvenient to maneuver and store compared to portable vacuums. Additionally, repairs may need professional service, adding to maintenance costs. Lastly, while powerful, they may be overkill for smaller homes or apartments, making the investment less practical for some households.
