"The woman who answered the phone when I called was very helpful. She gave me all the information I needed without my having to ask. The plumber arrived when expected, was able to fix one of the problems immediately and even cleaned the toilet before leaving. They will be coming back to do the 2nd job when they have the new toilet."

"Very pleased with my toilet removal and install. Joe was very responsive, gave me a reasonable quote for the job, and stood by that quote, even though there were additional matters to resolve when setting the toilet. Joe knew exactly what to do, and completed the job efficiently. Highly knowledgeable and professional service this is. Very impressed. Joe is a nice guy too and answered all questions. I would highly recommend."

"The one old toilet wasn't taken away and I was told to call my township. I'm trying to do less not more when I pay someone to do the work. Responsibly came out when he said he would and did the work needed to do that part of the job in a timely manner. Bathroom Reno requires 4 different sets of pro's to finish one room. A lot of coordinating work that I learned as I still can't take a photo until baseboards and now painting caulking and plastering and glass door needs to still be done. But I can finally use a toilet downstairs. Thank you All Out Plumbing."

Toilets FAQs, answered by experts

You generally cannot replace a 10-inch rough-in toilet with a 12-inch model without making significant plumbing updates. A 12-inch rough-in toilet will not fit a 10-inch rough-in space because the floor drain is in the wrong position. To accommodate the larger toilet, you would need to move the drainpipe, which could cost between $0.75 and $30 per linear foot, plus labor. In most cases, it is more cost-effective and simpler to purchase a new 10-inch rough-in toilet. However, it is possible to install a 10-inch rough-in toilet in a 12-inch space by using a longer connector.

Adding a half bathroom can be worth it for two reasons: you want to increase the livability of your home and increase its value. While a value increase is more likely for a smaller home than a larger one, smaller houses with a large number of occupants can see a drastic increase in the ease and flow of daily life with the addition of a half bathroom.

No, the pink ring in your toilet bowl isn’t a hard water stain but a type of bacteria called Serratia marcescens. This bacteria can also cause pinkish stains in other areas of your bathroom, like around your tub, shower curtains, and faucets. Thankfully, it’s considered to be harmless. However, if you or anyone in your household is immunocompromised, it can cause issues like urinary tract infections. You can clean the pink ring with bleach and a plastic brush. Wear gloves and goggles when using bleach, and always work in a well-ventilated room.

Brown stains in your toilet bowl are most likely limescale. Limescale happens from lime being left behind from hard water evaporating. Once dried out, the minerals also catch dirt and bacteria which eventually accumulate into the brown or blackish stain you see in your toilet. To remove thick and hard limescale from your toilet, use a mixture of vinegar, lemon juice, and baking soda, and scrub with a metal scrubbing brush.

What you include in your bathroom remodel will depend on your budget, personal preferences, and the current condition of your bathroom. Bathroom renovations often involve changing out the shower or tub, faucet, showerhead, tiles, flooring, mirrors, sink, cabinets, and vanities. You may also want to upgrade the wallcovering, adding new wallpaper or paint.
