While it took some time to investigate the many various old wires that had been spliced leading from multiple old transformers to the front doorbell and second floor door chime, they were ultimately able to decipher the electrical circuits that had been installed many years ago. This can be a time-consuming task, involving trial and error checks to see what wires are the correct ones to make everything work properly. So, I was pleasantly surprised that the total time involved from their arrival to project completion was just about two hours. I now have a fully functional Nest Hello video doorbell with a new low-voltage transformer professionally installed correctly, providing me both peace of mind and the desired added security that this device affords. While they mentioned having done similar installations before, they spent quite a bit of time reviewing instructions on site, which added to the time and cost. The final bill was over $800 for a couple switches, including a service fee and $10 for wire connector? (The switches come with connector) Just a heads-up to others: be sure to ask detailed questions about hourly charges and how time will be managed, especially for smart device installations."
