"Contacted Jerry about an estimate on painting and pressure washing my large wood deck. Called me back promptly and came early morning the next day. Didn't try to sell me on repairing issues with the deck which weren't that big a deal, gave me advice on other chores I needed to address on my property and explained in detail what would be involved in restoring my wood deck. Would have definitely hired him but the wife wants us to try our hand again at restoring the deck on our own :("
I put a awning and blocked off the front on both sides not too much wind will go inside

"Owner Jeff visited site for a walk thru to see and discuss the details about several painting & staining jobs that I wanted done He sent a proposalto me via email that same day listing all the jobs and job details. He set up the timing to coincide with my schedule, allocating two days. His crew show up on the appointed time and did everything as planned within the estimated time, Jeff set for me. His workers were very thorough and did an excellent job. I plan to have Jeff do the interior painting in my house. I was very pleased with thework and the professionalism of Jeff's CertaPro company."

"Frank and his team did an amazing job. My wife and I woke up one day and decided it was time to paint our garage door, front door, shutters and window frame to the laundry room. I coordinated with Frank and just like that, he was painting my house the next week. Those guys have awesome personalities and they are subject matter experts in their craft. Thanks for fitting me into your busy schedule."

"These painters did a wonderful job with my Master Bedroom Ceiling which had a stain on it from squirells which were in the attic. They removed the stain and painted the portion of the ceiling to make it look like there never was a problem. I would recommend them for any work that you have. The price was fair too."

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

Here's the deal with leaving used rags covered in oil-based stain lying around in a pile: Depending on the conditions, these rags can take just an hour or up to a few days to combust. The source of ignition is caused by trapped heat that can be compounded if the rags are near a heat source.

Yes, you can and should paint or stain pressure-treated wood, as this helps prevent the surface from cracking. However, it is crucial to wait for the wood to dry out completely from the chemical treatment process before applying a finish. If the wood is still wet, the paint will not adhere properly. The drying time can range from weeks to six months. To test if the wood is ready, drip some water onto a board. If the water is absorbed, the wood is dry enough for painting or staining. If the water beads up on the surface, it needs more time to dry. You can build with the wood while it's still wet, but you must wait for it to dry before painting.

The need for a topcoat on a painted deck depends on various factors, primarily the type of paint used and your desired level of protection. Many premium deck paint formulations are self-sealing, eliminating the necessity for an additional topcoat. These paints often have built-in additives that substantially protect against moisture, UV rays, and everyday wear and tear.

Routine cleaning, sealing/staining, and inspection prolong deck life and appearance.

Whether to brush or roll stain on wood depends on the project and your preference. Brushing is ideal for smaller, intricate areas and offers more control over the application, ensuring thorough coverage and penetration into the wood's grain.

Conversely, rolling is efficient for more extensive, flat surfaces and can save time. However, it is not always the best fit for textured or uneven wood. Some projects may benefit from combining both methods, using a brush for detail work and a roller for broader areas. Ultimately, the choice between brushing and rolling depends on the specific requirements of your staining project.
