"Sue went above and beyond to find an installer to complete my job in a very tight time period. Installer was professional, friendly and fixed my carpeting on a Sunday morning. Would absolutely utilize again! Thank you Sue!"

"Almost a year has passed since we purchased wood, tile flooring and an area rug from Premier Carpet. Our entire first floor still looks brand new and no defects in installation have surfaced. I credit our sustained satisfaction to Bryan and the staff at Premier Carpet. They helped us to choose the best products that were both practical and consistent with  our tastes and budget. Now it's time to replace the carpet on the staircase and upstairs hallway.  We will be visiting PREMIER once again because of their product and design knowledge, outstanding customer service, excellent pricing and thorough knowledge of the industry. See you soon!

"BW Carpeting was excellent. Deep knowledge of flooring business, excellent customer care. The price was good and the quality of their materials were excellent. They show on time and finish the job as promised. They also brough some pieces of carpeting to put underneath of our heavy furniture to avoid scratching our new floors. I would recommend BW Carpeting for a floring job. I would rehire them for any floring work at our home again. Miguel C"

"The carpet looks good. The installers did a good job. They also cut the bottom of some doors due to the carpet rubbing on the bottom of the door. This cost extra and was paid directly to the installers. Both Bogart Carpet and the installers were easy to work with. They kept commitments on scheduling."

"Everything went great! From the estimate to completion, I could not have asked for a better experience with this project. David, the owner, came out to do the estimate. He was courteous and knowledgeable and explained the process to us so that we understood it. He also identified the type of wood that we had, something no other company told us. The estimate came out a touch higher than the other guys, but we had more confidence in using this company based on the initial estimate process. As for the work, Oscar and his team did a great job! They moved our furniture with care and put it where we asked them to. They were punctual and on schedule throughout the whole process. They were courteous and very easy to deal with. They took the time to make sure we we were happy with how the floors were looming and asked us if we wanted to add items, such as a block of wood that transitions the wood floor to our slider and to rooms with carpeting. There was hardly any dust, as promised!! And they did a great job! Our floors look terrific."

Carpet Stretching questions, answered by experts

No, it works best under synthetic carpets in high-traffic or moisture-prone areas. Avoid using moisture barrier padding under natural fiber carpets like wool, which need air circulation. The barrier can trap the moisture against natural fibers and cause problems. Also, you can skip it in low-risk areas like upstairs guest bedrooms, where the extra protection often isn't worth the added cost.

It’s best to have a pro stretch your carpet before having it cleaned. A loose carpet is more difficult to clean, but a stretched carpet will be fixed firmly in place once the job is done. Cleaning a carpet can loosen it depending on the technique used.

Yes, carpeted stairs are generally considered safer than stairs with hard surfaces like wood, vinyl, or tile. Carpet provides more traction and friction, which helps reduce the chances of slips and falls. Additionally, if a fall does occur, carpet offers more cushioning, which can lessen the severity of an injury. While hard surfaces can look great, they are often more slippery. However, it's worth noting that some carpets, especially if they are new, dirty, or have a slick texture, can also pose a slipping hazard. To improve safety on any type of stair surface, you can add traction treads to increase grip.

If you want to save money on carpet repairs, there are a few ways to save without sacrificing quality. Some options you have include:

  • Cleaning set-in stains by renting a steam cleaner or using DIY carpet cleaning methods

  • Prepare the area for repairing yourself, such as moving furniture, to avoid unnecessary fees.

  • Protect high-traffic areas with a runner rug to avoid excessive wear and tear.

If you don’t put padding under your carpet, the carpet won’t be protected from wear on the underside. This could result in a shorter life span for your carpet and increased carpet repair costs over time. An unpadded carpet can also be less comfortable to walk on, depending on your subfloor and the type of carpet.
