"Sam and his crew were able to schedule my job quickly and were punctual on the scheduled date. He has heavy duty professional equipment and a crew that knows how to get the job done efficiently and safely. Pains were taken to make sure the rest of my property was kept safe as the tree was methodically disassembled, and I never had a concern as the job progressed through to its perfect conclusion. I've got some future work that Sam and his professional, reliable crew will be contacted for and I look forward to leveraging Sam and his Qualitylawn Tree Service again. Dial up Sam and Qualitylawn Tree Service if you're looking for a worry-free, reasonably-priced experience."

"We had a tree in the front yard that was very large. We had hoped to save it. The arborist from SavATree tried to think of a way to save it, but in the end the only option was to take it down. The team that came to do the work was careful and professional. They took the tree down and chipped it on site. Great work!"

"Did a great job removing a dying/dead 60 year old oak tree. The tree was within 25 feet of the house (and overhanging the roof) and the crew exercised care.so as to avoid any damage to structures or surrounding landscaping. They even cut up the branches into a usable size (for use in my fireplace), and stacked the firewood for me."

"We needed 4 very large trees on our property removed. Julio was extremely accommodating, as we were late getting back to our house for the estimate meeting. He was very knowledgeable, and was very detailed in his estimate. The pricing was also extremely competitive. We only ended up having two of the trees dropped, but the work was impeccable. Julio and his team were punctual, extremely well prepared and very professional. Both trees, stumps and all of the wood were removed in one day, and the cleanup was excellent. We are extremely satisfied with the work and will almost definitely contract them again in the future."

"Very good. They were responsive, prompt, professional, and cost effective. I was able to reach partner Jeff Snyder on his phone that same Sunday, and he came to our home to assess the situation that day. He agreed that we needed to take action on that tree and we had a 'no pressure' consultation on a few others. After agreeing on what we wanted to take out, prune, or leave alone, we settled on a time to do the work (Tuesday) and a fair price for the work. The owner and his crew were on site as scheduled in less than 48 hours, and we were happy with the results. I've had a lot of tree services work at our property over the 20+ years we've lived there, and Avery Tree service (the ones at 30 Victor Ave in West Long Branch) are professional, prompt, and cost effective. As to details, they demonstrated that they can adapt the way they work to the job. While you can see on their web site that they have all the heavy equipment, they did not use cranes and bucket trucks in this case, but ropes, climbers, and smaller 'bobcat' loaders to move the wood, which saved a lot of yard damage. They could have easily come charging in with their big buckets and cranes and probably done the job faster and torn up my yard a lot more in the process. I appreciated the flexibility in how they did the job. Avery Tree Service delivered a quality service and I'd be happy to use them again."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

For trimming trees, your best tool is a pair of pruning shears or loppers. Both options work best for branches that are under 3 inches in diameter. Trimming trees with a larger diameter may require a robust tool like a small chainsaw or a handsaw, so take into account your tree’s diameter when deciding between tools.

In the short term, you’ll have a lot of fallen trees to deal with. Tree removal services costs typically start at $200 per tree and increase based on species and size. Then, you’ll have to deal with the loss of trees: That means a loss of shade and a greater risk of rain runoff and erosion. Also, you’ll miss out on the health and aesthetic benefits of having trees on your property, which could even affect the resale value of your home.

That being said, cutting down a tree it’s not always a bad idea. Trees growing too close to rooftops can present fire hazards or debris problems. You may need to remove diseased or dying trees to prevent future issues.

In most ways, palm trees are incredibly low-maintenance. They don’t need a ton of water—which is why they’re so beloved in desert regions—and they basically prune themselves. But they do need an ample supply of sunlight and to be in soil that will allow for proper drainage so that their roots don’t become waterlogged and at risk of developing illnesses.

If the plant begins to wilt, develop spots, or change color, these could all be signs that your palm tree has a disease. But a few basic treatments, like pruning and applying fungicide, will usually be more than enough to return it to perfect health.

No. Topping a tree refers to severely cutting down all its major branches and tree in a straight line. It was once recommended for streetside deciduous trees but has fallen out of practice. Topping leads to many problems, removing so much of the tree that many trees struggle to survive and become much more vulnerable to insects and diseases. Also, it doesn’t really help tree growth as once assumed and often leads to an ugly appearance of many sprouting stems in competition to become new main branches.

Full decorating services often provide rental trees for their Christmas packages, so you shouldn’t have any trouble finding one. However, individual interior decorators and others may not offer rented trees, so always check the specifics of their services before booking. Keep in mind that you’ll need to prepare the Christmas tree for pick-up shortly after the holidays.
