"John Damiano came onto a job that was half complete with many problems. His tile installers were wonderful and corrected the problems with the original install and continued to install the rest of the travertine. They did a beautiful job. They were very professional, prompt and courteous. I wouldn't hesitate to refer Damiano Construction or to use them for other construction jobs I might need."

"I recently had the pleasure of working with A. Ventura Construction LLC on a renovation project for my apartment, and I couldn't be more satisfied with the results. They remodeled my walk-in closet, installed new flooring, and painted the entire apartment. From the initial consultation to the final walkthrough, their professionalism and attention to detail were evident. The team was punctual, respectful, and highly skilled. The quality of their workmanship is outstanding – my walk-in closet is now beautifully organized, the flooring looks flawless, and the paint job has given my apartment a fresh, vibrant look. What impressed me the most was their commitment to customer satisfaction. They listened to my ideas and offered valuable suggestions, ensuring that every detail was perfect. The project was completed on time and within budget, with no unexpected surprises. I highly recommend A. Ventura Construction LLC to anyone looking for top-notch construction and renovation services. I will definitely hire them again for any future projects."

Outdoor Kitchens questions, answered by experts

No, even if you have a vague idea of what you want, it’s a good idea to reach out to a contractor that specializes in outdoor kitchens for assistance. Professionals who have constructed kitchens for other homeowners can not only help you think about the functionality and convenience of your outdoor space—which many homeowners neglect—but they can also help you choose high-quality, durable materials that meet your budget and match the rest of your outdoor space. In fact, it’s often better to contact a contractor and get the ball rolling before you have a solidified plan for your outdoor kitchen.

A fireplace is, by definition, an enclosed space where you burn wood or other fuel for the purpose of generating light and heat. A firepit burns wood and is much less expensive to build, but they aren’t technically a fireplace as it isn’t enclosed. An outdoor oven—commonly outdoor brick pizza ovens—often uses wood as fuel, but its primary purpose is to cook food, and you’d rarely just burn wood inside them for warmth or aesthetic reasons.

Cover appliances, clean surfaces regularly, and winterize plumbing before freezing temperatures.

It’s possible to build your own outdoor kitchen, with the exception of installing utility lines, but it’s usually better to leave the work to a construction professional. If you want to DIY it, opt for an outdoor kitchen kit. For permanent kitchens and more in-depth designs, hiring an expert will ensure every aspect is high-quality and professional, the proper permits are pulled, and everything works safely. Professionals can also help design your kitchen to make the most out of your space, so it’s well worth the investment.

Deciding whether to buy a prebuilt fireplace kit or build one from scratch comes down to aesthetics, available space, and budget. Many homeowners like the convenience and lower cost of prebuilt options—around $1,500—versus the involved planning and construction of a larger fireplace. Another bonus: you can usually move prebuilt units. Custom projects are more common when homeowners have access to a larger budget and more area in the yard to place the fireplace.
