Customers say: True professional

"If you're looking for an honest and knowledgeable electrician, R.A.P. Electric Company is the real deal. When my master bathroom outlets suddenly lost power, I spent hours checking breakers, outlets, and GFCIs without finding the problem. After contacting R.A.P. through Angi, I expected a service call and a bill. Instead, the electrician took the time to ask a few questions and patiently guided me through troubleshooting over the phone. He helped me locate a forgotten GFCI outlet in my basement that had tripped and was causing the problem. Once I reset it, everything worked perfectly. Many electricians could have charged me for a house call to perform a 30-second fix. Instead, R.A.P. chose honesty and customer service over making a quick dollar. That level of integrity is rare these days. I will definitely use R.A.P. Electric Company for any future electrical work and highly recommend them."

"I had an electrical issue in my kitchen and the power to main floor went out. I ended up having a back switch that needed to be replaced. I was quickly contacted to understand the issue, and DLP Electric was willing to come out today, however I had already just hired a technician from another company to handle (right before I spoke to DLP). Having said that, DLP Electric was professional and very helpful, and I would hire them if I ever needed electric work performed in my house. Great customer service and very responsive."

"Current Electric Contracting LLC was efficient and professional in their overall response to our issue. We had to have a few breakers replaced in our panel. Their pricing was fair. We will definitely keep them in our contractor database and hire them again."

"Marcello was very honest and fair. His price was reasonable and he did very good work. I had to leave for my job while he was working on my electric panel, and left my home open for him to do his work. He was professional and did not disturb my home in any way. Nice man and very honest. I would have him do more work at my house in a minute"

Electrical questions, answered by experts

Lyndhurst’s climate brings seasonal challenges for electrical work. Winter’s cold and ice can delay outdoor projects, while summer humidity increases the risk of moisture damage to wiring. Heavy spring rains may reveal issues with outdoor outlets, and autumn storms require extra surge protection. Because humidity and dampness are common, especially in basements, use corrosion-resistant materials and schedule regular inspections to catch weather-related wear early.

Helpful?

Electrical upgrades in Lyndhurst homes can impact HVAC, security, and plumbing systems, especially if new circuits connect to central air units, sump pumps, or smart devices. Watch for signs like flickering lights, inconsistent HVAC operation, or connectivity issues with security systems. Before starting a project, review your home’s wiring layout and consult a licensed electrician to ensure compatibility with existing systems and avoid unexpected disruptions.

Helpful?

After completing electrical work in Lyndhurst, confirm that all work areas are clean and accessible for inspection. Keep copies of permits and inspection records for your files and future home sales. Ask your electrician for updated electrical panel labels, circuit diagrams, and warranty documentation. Regularly test GFCI outlets, especially in damp areas, and schedule annual safety checks to help prevent issues common in older Lyndhurst homes.

Helpful?

In Lyndhurst, frequent breaker trips, warm or discolored outlets, and persistent burning odors from panels are warning signs. Homes built before 1970 may have outdated wiring or lack GFCI protection, increasing risk. Look for rust or water stains near electrical panels, especially after heavy rain, and check for signs of rodent damage in basements. Addressing these issues promptly can help prevent major electrical repairs.

Helpful?

Before starting electrical work in Lyndhurst, review local permit requirements and check for any homeowner association restrictions. Contact 811 before digging to locate underground utilities, and coordinate with utility providers if service upgrades are needed. Have a licensed electrician inspect your electrical panel for code compliance. Planning projects for milder weather in spring or fall can help minimize weather-related delays and ensure smoother progress.
