This is an inherently messy job and they did it quickly and efficiently while paying attention to the rest of my home. The entrance to my basement is through the house and they laid down protective materials to protect my floors and were very careful not to damage anything or spill oil as they worked and moved materials, tools and supplies in and out of the basement. They also handled all the permitting and inspections. I hope to never have to do this again, but if I do, I will call Sterling to do the job. "

It all depends on the scope of the project. A trencher can certainly save time and energy, but you might not need to dig that deep in the first place. In areas with colder winters, they may be buried deeper to prevent frozen well water pipes : This is usually at least six inches below the frost level. The International Plumbing Code calls for a minimum of 12 inches below grade.
