Small jobs welcome

My team and I have been hauling junk and clearing spaces for a few months now, and in that time we’ve tackled everything from single-item pickups to full estate cleanouts, garage overhauls, and post-renovation debris. No job is too big or too small — even after some time we’ve seen a lot. \n\nWe proudly serve North Jersey including surrounding areas such as Hunterdon, Somerset and Middlesex and we’re happy to travel further for larger jobs — just ask.\n\nWhat sets us apart is our efficient same-day service, careful handling of your home and belongings, eco-friendly and biohazard disposals, donation drop-offs, heavy-lifting and tight-space experience. We know how to work quickly without cutting corners, and we always leave a space cleaner than we found it.\n\nAt the end of the day, we believe junk removal should be stress-free. You point, we haul — no judgment, no hassle, no mess left behind. Our goal is to make your space feel like yours again, and we treat every job like it’s our own home.

Garbage Removal questions, answered by experts

The two main negatives of garbage disposals are they are a safety hazard in homes with children, and they frequently encounter blockage issues. While they might be annoying to fix and monitor, garbage disposals can significantly lower your trash use and are a great way to dispose of organic waste. While there are negatives, the vast majority of homeowners acknowledge the positives are enough to install a disposal in their home.

There are many maintenance and repair issues that lead to a malfunctioning garbage disposal. Regular clogs place wear and tear on the motors, leading to an eventual shutdown. Electrical issues at the breaker, wall outlet, or disposal itself can fry the unit. The most common cause is simply a worn-down motor. These motors can only handle so much use before powering down for good.

These appliances certainly increase the number of things allowed down the drain, but they’re not foolproof. There are several items you shouldn’t put in your garbage disposal, according to manufacturers and technicians. Don’t put coffee grounds down the drain. The same goes for eggshells, potato peels, hard foods, onion skins, and any dry, expandable food. Most importantly, never put grease or oils down the drain.

While unplugging your garbage disposal and plugging it back in may help, most units have an actual reset button, a bright red switch found on the underside of your unit. If your garbage disposal needs resetting, you may notice this button sticking out about a quarter of an inch from the surface of the unit, with which it’s usually flush. Simply depress this reset button to reset the unit, and then test to ensure it’s working about 10 minutes later.

In some cases, it’s more cost-effective in the long run to replace a garbage disposal, but it depends on the specific issue you’re having and the age of your disposal. You should ask a garbage disposal repair tech for a quote to repair your appliance and then see if it would be more worthwhile to replace it. Additionally, garbage disposals last for around 15 years, so if you know your appliance is reaching that age, it’s likely better to pay for a new garbage disposal rather than sink money into repairs.
