"I would recommend Robert Tree Services. They removed a large tree from my yard, as well as a pile of branches that I had cut down myself. The crew was very professional, and the job was done fast."

"Our oak tree is very large and is located next to our garage and close to our neighbors property so it is not easy to maneuver equipment in that space. There were several dead branches high up that needed to be removed. The elm tree in the front of our house needed branches trimmed that were touching the house. They arrived on time and did an excellent job. They were very careful not to cause any damage to our house, garage and shrubs. They removed all debris and cleaned the entire area. They even removed previously felled dead branches from the roof of our garage. We are extremely happy with their work and would definitely use their services again and recommend them. Our trees look great!"

"These guys did a great job removing a very old tree in my back yard. They were very professional, very reasonable on price and they were very nice and on top of things. I got an estimate from others Tree Companies around my area but Morales Brothers Tree Service bit the price."

"This crew is amazing!  My uncle needed to have a tree removed from our
backyard... I'm talking HUGE with many of the biggest limbs leaning over
our neighbors house.  He came over right away and gave a reasonably
priced quote.  I discussed it with my uncle and decided to go ahead and
use his services.  He removed this tree in two days, even with it being
some of the hottest days its been in a while!  His whole crew was
extremely kind and they made sure to clean up very carefully after they
were done. They even took a look at my broken car when they
noticed me filling my radiator with water!  We were thrilled with the
services this crew gave us and would recommend them to anyone.

"He responded quickly to my call, came the same day to inspect the trees and began treatment within a few days. He was informative about the disease and had specialized training in treating oak wilt. He did let us know that treatment effectiveness is only about 50/50 when you have trees that are already infected. Since the treatment was recent, we don't know if the trees will survive. But since these trees provide our backyard shade, we decided to go ahead with the treatment."

"Armondo and crew are hands down THE BEST!! This is the third time using this company and I am comfortable writing this review to confirm their expertise and professionalism. The first time I called Armondo it was shortly after a bad storm in Elmwood Park. He came over the same day, climbed up, and used a chainsaw and rope to safely lower a gigantic tree limb to the ground. He then removed it and cleaned up. Price was outstanding. I contracted his company two times after and again was impressed. Armondo is a pro at climbing up and getting his hands dirty. His prices are fantastic and he gets the job done start to finish. He is hungry!!! Armondo’s Tree Service is ACES!! High recommendation. David in Wyckoff."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

You need to remove all branches affected by Dutch elm disease. If your tree has several affected branches, you will probably need to remove the entire tree. First, consult a pro to be sure that you’ve correctly identified it as an elm tree. Make sure the tree is properly disposed of with a plastic covering or through debarking, chipping, or burning.

Steer clear of the area and contact your utility company immediately. It will have a website portal and/or a phone number to report downed trees and electrical issues. If the tree appears to be on public land, you may want to call your local government and report the issue there, too.

Trees should be pruned every two to five years, depending on its age and type. Young trees should be inspected and pruned every two to three years. Mature trees should be inspected and trimmed every three to five years, and fruit trees should be pruned annually with a careful eye on seasonal growth. Evergreens typically don’t need pruning, unless branches or limbs are damaged, diseased, or harboring pests.

Dying trees and even dead trees can spread diseases to other living trees. There are many different types of tree diseases, so it’s essential to address the issue as soon as possible to prevent the disease from spreading to other healthy trees. If the tree cannot be saved and is infected, you need to have it removed to protect the other trees on your property.

Although the terms tree trimming and tree pruning are used interchangeably, they are very different types of tree maintenance. Tree trimming involves enhancing the appearance of your tree by removing unruly branches, providing your tree with ample sunlight and nutrients and prevents unsightly overgrowth.

Tree pruning helps keep your trees disease-free. This process removes unhealthy growths, dead branches, and other unhealthy parts of the tree. It’s more common for deciduous and ornamental trees but not so common for evergreen trees. To determine which method you need, discuss it with a tree trimming specialist.
