"Jessy came to inspect the job promptly. We made the appointment. A few days later my chimney was cleaned quickly and neatly by two very courteous A1 employees, and the price was right. I recommend A1 Professional Chimney and Roofing and would hire them again."

"This is the second time that Monarch Roofing has done work for me. I thought I might be ready for a new roof (many of the neighbors are replacing theirs) but they said that it just needed some repairs, which included a replacement attic vent, minor shingle repair, and some work on the chimney flashing. The entire project was completed within a few days. It was very easy to set up the inspection appointment, they came out on time, and then promptly got me on the schedule for the actual work. Easy, trouble free job, just as it was the first time. From my recent experience, Monarch Roofing can be counted on not to sell you a complete roofing job when a repair is all thatâ s needed. Their folks are highly professional and always willing to take the time to explain whatâ s needed, what they recommend, any alternatives, and what the cost will be."

"Hiring Adore construction was the best decision for repairing my chimneys. Jack was excellent, very professional, on time and very reasonably priced. Jack's price was $9,000 less than my previous estimate for my chimney company. I will be using Adore for everything related to my chimney and roof"

Chimney Inspection questions, answered by experts

Meshed fiberglass tape is your best option if you want to tape up a leaking ceiling. Even then, that is not a permanent solution and you need to address the root cause of the leak. Also, you still need to apply drywall material on top of the tape and repaint the ceiling, instead of leaving the tape exposed as-is. Finally, this method only works on minor leaks and as a band-aid solution.

If you suspect that your roof is leaking, you can hire a professional roofing contractor to inspect it to find the source of the issue. There are many possible reasons why your roof is leaking, including broken shingles, damaged flashing, clogged gutters, and more. A roof leak inspection will help you pinpoint the exact cause of the leak and the pro will suggest the best way to resolve it.

Take a look at your roof shingles from the ground or from a ladder, and look for cracked or missing shingles, which are the most obvious signs of roof damage. You should also look for pockmarks from hail and blown debris, as well as blisters that could indicate a moisture issue or a problem with the installation. Inside your home, be on the lookout for water spots on the ceilings on your upper floor, as this is a clear sign of a roof leak.

Inspect annually for damage, clean debris, and reapply sealant to maintain protection.

Home inspectors may look briefly at your roof, but certified roof experts will be more thorough. Hiring a roof inspector can give you a better sense of any underlying concerns as well as longevity. That said, a roof inspector won’t look at the rest of your home. The inspection may or may not include the attic, where problems can be hidden if they aren’t already visible on the surface of your roof. It’s important to clarify exactly what you’re getting with your inspector so there are no surprises.
