"Great. Mike was thorough, efficient, and listened carefully. He was very interested in figuring out what was wrong. My fireplace had been shutting off intermittently. Mike checked all very carefully, downloaded the instruction manual for my system, and we decided to see if his cleaning and realigning solved the problem. So far it has. If not, I will certainly ask for him to return and replace the suspected bad part. All in all, highly recommended."

"2 bricks fell from the top of the chimney. I looked on the top of the chimney through the binoculars and immediately understood that it is time to repair. I talked with several companies; they made wide specter of offers - from re-pointing to full chimney rebuilt. And what was common in all estimations â they were very expensive. The best offer, job description and fair price were done by Tony He made an appointment for the next day, immediately evaluated the level of damage of the chimney and the work, which should be done to fix it. Next day after several phone calls and emails we filled out contract. After that in the morning nice black contraction van stopped by my house. I was not in home, when the work was started. Tony later stopped by and checked the job.. Everything was fine. Grand NJ Construction is good, professional and reliable company."

Chimney Repair questions, answered by experts

Pros cover many fixes, from upholstery renewals to joint reinforcement.

Regularly inspect older furnishings for scratches, dents, sun damage, tears, or insect infestations in upholstered objects. These are all signs that an object needs to be repaired, and tending to them sooner rather than later will ensure they don’t worsen with time and eventually require more costly refinishing.

Professionals offer high-quality repair services that extend furniture life, maintaining its function and aesthetic appeal. Their expertise in materials and techniques ensures restoration or modification meets the homeowner's expectations and original design.

To prevent sagging, consider both the material and the span of the shelf. Using sturdy materials such as plywood or solid wood can provide better support than particleboard. Additionally, limiting the shelf span to 36 inches or less can reduce the risk of sagging. For longer shelves, incorporating center supports or brackets can offer additional reinforcement.

Wood furniture is usually vulnerable to water damage. However, larger furniture tends to have a high chance of being salvaged as long as it hasn’t been standing in water for more than 24 hours. You can restore bedpoles, table and couch legs, and other wood parts that haven’t been fully saturated. Meanwhile, smaller objects like decors or furniture with fabric wrapping may require full replacement.
