"We went with Matt and team for our kitchen remodel and the process could not have been smoother. The project was completed to our standards, on time, and within budget which is really all you can ask for from a contractor. While Matt did not give us the cheapest quote, we found the pricing fair and even asked him to complete some additional projects, like replacing our front door. Matt was professional and easy to work with and told us exactly what needed to be purchased and when which helped keep everyone on track. We would highly recommend Matt and team and plan on using them for additional projects in the future."

"Top Pro Construction did an exceptional job replacing our roof after recent rain damage forced us to get a full replacement. From start to finish, the entire crew was professional, punctual, and completed the job right on schedule. A special shoutout to Eric, the manager, who was superb throughout the whole process. He took the time to explain every detail thoroughly, answered all of my questions, and made sure I felt completely comfortable with the plan before work began. I am extremely happy with the final result and the level of professionalism demonstrated by the entire team. I highly recommend Top Pro Construction to anyone in need of roof repair or replacement!"

"We hired them to build a retaining wall to level out our sloped backyard and install a new patio. They recommended natural bluestone bordered by classic bricks, and wow?what a difference! The stonework is flawless, perfectly level, and handles heavy rain with zero drainage issues. It looks like a high-end resort back here now. Worth every penny."

"I have worked with Uprise twice now and both times they did great work. The first house they found and repaired a leak, and in the second house I had them install a new roof. I would not hesitate to call them again for future needs."

Customers say: True professional

"Antonio and his crew were amazing. His crew reconstructed an exterior brick wall of my 250 year old house that had been damaged by car collision. They did a great job preserving the look of this old house, supporting the structure, realigning the old bricks and applying new mortar to the joints. Really impressive work! Thank you Antonio"

"Full waterproofing of the basement in our 95 year old house, including demolition of walls and shelves/cabinets/sinks and plumbing. Additional service of adding a footing to the basement walls. All the work took three days. Excellent work and looks great, though a bit costly."

"Overall, it went very well.  Among four  Angie's list Super-Service Companies, they offered a waterproofing with a gravity drain rather than a sump-pump.  The cost to do this was competitive against the other quotes I recieved.  They also handled permits.  This was important, especially since we had an unexpected problem with one water line.  My house was built in 1960, and there was a fragile water line that broke during the project.  I really think this was inevitable. The company quickly resolved the problem with a plumber they had available.  The cost of this was split by me and the company, but in my opinion, it was done at a very cheap cost of $400 total (in addition to the above).  In fact, the plumber was so great, we have used him again.   (I would think that had I gotten another company, this problem would not have been handled so efficiently).  I am really happy with the final product and the timeline which they completed everything as well.
I am surprised at the variation of estimates I recieved from highly rated Angie's list companies.  One company said they don't get permits, another offered the same work for $2000 more than the others, and a third offered a vapor barrior option.  I knew all companies would do good work, but American A-1 has the most versatility for the project that needs to be done right (they offered a gravity drain since my house was on a hill, and connected it to a sewer in front, thus no extra electric work or sump-pump installation; they also were able to pour concrete on my crawlspace floor). We have not issues of water (or mold smell) for the last 6 months. Highly recommended.

House Leveling questions, answered by experts

Trenching and boring are two distinct methods for installing underground utilities. Trenching involves digging a channel using equipment like an excavator, trencher, backhoe, or shovel. While it is a simpler process, it causes significant disruption to the surface, landscaping, and surrounding ecosystems.

Boring, also known as directional boring, is a less invasive alternative that uses a drill to create a tunnel for utility lines without disturbing the surface. This method is more precise and is ideal for installations that need to go underneath buildings, roads, or bodies of water. Although boring is less disruptive, it is generally more expensive than trenching.

Mudjacking typically takes 24 to 72 hours (one to three days) to dry and cure completely before you can resume normal use. The exact time can vary depending on the size of the project. Because the slurry mixture contains cement, it must fully harden to ensure that added weight from walking, furniture, or vehicles won't shift the concrete slab. A professional contractor can advise you on when the surface is safe to use. For comparison, if you use polyjacking instead, the polyurethane foam can dry in just a few minutes, but it's best to wait about an hour before use.

The method involves lifting settled concrete using pressurized cement slurry via drilled holes. This solves uneven surfaces and prevents further settling.

Mudjacking can be an expensive foundation repair process, but in many cases, it’s well worth the investment. This is especially true if you’re lifting a portion of sunken foundation slab back into place. In that case, mudjacking can help avoid major structural damage and even home collapse by restoring the integrity of your structure with minimally invasive procedures. Mudjacking a concrete patio, walkway, or sidewalk can be worthwhile because it removes tripping hazards and makes your outdoor area more aesthetically appealing.

Pros often use mudjacking or polyurethane foam injection to level a sunken concrete patio. Both methods lift the slab by filling voids beneath it. After properly compacting the soil beneath it to prevent future settling, the concrete may need to be removed and re-poured for severe sinking.
