"I didn't have a patio done but a concrete apron put in around my house to replace an old one. Sam was a very nice guy to work with and his crew did an excellent job. Very hard workers who worked tirelessly. I would highly recommend the company."

"It was great and they are great!   I can't say enough about their professionalism both with the person that gave me the quote and the guys who performed the work.   Very knowledgeable about the process and took great care to be sure nothing was damaged.   They came in, drilled holes in the concrete, and pumped a polymer-type product, PolyLevel,  in through special attachments that were removed after the process.  There were 4 holes in the concrete that they patched and you have to look for them to see them now.  I imagine by spring when we open the pool they will be practically unnoticeable.
We decided to use BQ Basement Systems because they were the only ones that used the PolyLevel.   I really did not want to have someone digging, chipping and pouring concrete that close to the pool wall.   This system was quick and safe.   It cured almost immediately and we were not inconvenience in the least.  I can't imaging the nightmare of the other way, the dirt, the concrete truck on the driveway, the time to dry.   Glad we picked the best company.
Thank you Angie's List and Thank you BQ Basement Systems.  You have restored my faith in getting good contractors.

"Justin and his team at JMW construction were able to turn our vision into a fabulous outdoor space. Justin worked with us through multiple steps and stages as the plan evolved and even after when we asked for additional advice and guidance. He and his team standby their projects. We could not be happier. We received compliments about our space when we entertain and our children love to bring their friends."

"I can't speak higher of these guys. They went above and beyond when installing an exterior french drain in the back of my house. As they were finishing up, it began to pour rain and they saw my back gutter was clogged. They grabbed a ladder and in the pouring rain, unclogged the gutter. They're fast, clean, kind and fair. I've recommended them to all my friends."

"This company was a pleasure to deal with from the initial inspection and estimate to the finish with a dry basement. It absolutely poured the next week and the basement stayed bone dry. All members of the crew were respectful, were aware of Covid safety,, and actually finished the job, including installing a French drain and sump pump, as well as reposting the crumbling walls, ahead of schedule. Highly recommend."

Concrete Walls questions, answered by experts

Concrete houses cost 10% to 20% more to build than stick-built homes, and maintenance on home systems is more invasive and expensive due to pipes and wires being buried in concrete. Concrete homes can also look more industrial and less comfortable if you don’t cover the concrete with finishing materials. It’s also more challenging to make changes to concrete, so reframing doors and windows or building home additions will cost more. Concrete needs time to cure, too, so the timeline to build a house out of concrete is a bit longer.

Labor and pouring adds between $8 and $18 per square foot to your total for concrete delivery. Especially for larger projects, it’s usually a good idea to hire a professional concrete delivery company when it comes to installing concrete surfaces even though it will undoubtedly cost more to hire a pro to do the work for you.

Aim for a concrete thickness of at least 4 inches for the walls of your above-ground storm shelter and 3.0 to 3.5 cubic yards of concrete for the base of your storm shelter. If you’re concerned about the thickness of your concrete while building a storm shelter, get in touch with a professional storm shelter builder to make sure your work is up to code and safe.

Yes, you should hire a mason who’s licensed, certified, and insured, if possible. Be sure to check our state licensing tool to review the local mason guidelines.

As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Certified” badge. Angi Certified businesses meet our standards for certification, which include:

  • The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check

  • Required to have applicable state and local licenses

  • Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review

  • Paying to advertise their services

  • Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi

Yes, thicker concrete is less likely to crack. The thicker the concrete is, the less susceptible it is to extreme changes in weather conditions that often cause concrete to crack or chip. If you’re unable to install a thicker concrete driveway for any reason, you can also ask your professional to install more rebar or wire mesh to provide greater strength and better resilience to damage.
