"Our lawn was looking a bit sad, as there were a lot of weeds and it just wasn’t full and a healthy green. We hired Perennial for the season, and the customer service has been consistently great. They customized our package for the best regimen for our lawn, and call us at least 2 days ahead to let us know the next treatment date. We are only 2 treatments in, but already we see a huge difference. The lawn is filling in and overall looks so much healthier!! We are very pleased with the results so far!"

"Been using Dobson lawn care for years and years and finally had enough of their poor service and high costs. We have an 18 zone system with 100 heads. Hired Pacific lawn and met the owner. He is very courteous and knowledgeable. His crew are quick and neat. They get the job done. I hired them to install a new head. Then to install and new controller. They even programmed it remotely. Then used them to winterize my system. They allow you to book service on line. They show up as promised. And fair prices. What else can you ask for? Definitely recommend."

"Almstead trimmed 4 trees, removing dead branches and taking limbs off and away from house. They also removed a tall pine from our front yard. They were professional and left our card clean. Ryan Duff is both knowledgeable and pleasant. I would definitely hire them again."

"After using a few lawn sprinkler companies that are more interested in charging, i found Tanzer Sprinklers. They work with you on what is broken, are great at following up, and arrive when scheduled. Highly recommend them"

Lawns questions, answered by experts

The time that it takes to fill in a pool with dirt varies based on the size of the pool and the equipment you have available. Using heavy equipment, like an excavator rather than a shovel, will significantly cut down on the time it takes to complete the project. With the right equipment, it may only take a day or two. However, after the initial filling, the dirt will continue to settle over the following weeks and months. You may need to add more dirt to make the empty area level with the rest of the yard.

No, it’s not necessary to remove all the leaves from your lawn—in fact, leaving some behind can be beneficial. While it's important to clear thick layers of leaves that can smother your grass, leaving a light scattering of leaves can help feed your soil while also providing safe winter habitat for pollinators like bumble bees. Leftover leaves will eventually break down, enriching the soil and promoting healthy lawn growth.

Leaf removal, aeration, dethatching, mowing, pruning, and fertilizing are activities that prepare lawns for the next season.

If possible, you should prioritize pulling weeds up by hand. However, be sure not to use your bare hands, as many weeds are sharp or otherwise irritating when they come in contact with skin. Always don thick, protective gardening gloves to protect your hands when you pull up weeds.

You have a few options to get rid of raked leaves, including bagging them and leaving them out for yard waste pickup. Even if you hire a professional for leaf removal, they can often bag the leaves and leave them for you to dispose of this way. You can also recycle and even donate yard waste. If you have a compost bin, your leaves will be ready to help your plants grow, reducing spring cleanup landscaping costs. Some companies will even accept donations of raked leaves to make compost, but you’ll need to transport them yourself.
