"The guys did a great job! They installed the two attic outlets during the hottest weekend in the summer and our attic is not climate controlled by any stretch! For the bathroom fan and vent, they suggested an all in one fan and vent instead of cutting a second hole in the ceiling which i really appreciated! This made it necessary for them to come back another day since they needed to pick up the right size light/vent. Ref The replacement vanity light they called me to let me know that they would have to punch a hole in the drywall to do the wiring properly and that I would need to paint. They didn't just go ahead and do it which i also appreciated! Very professional. They discussed various options for venting the bathroom fan since i did not want them to punch another hole in our brand new roof. They did this without grumbling. Both the receptionist and the electricians' communication was stellar as they kept me posted on what was happening. Both times they came i was out of town and i felt comfortable leaving them alone in my home. The improvements they made to our home made it more functional, safer and more beautiful. I trust and highly recommend Wire Wiz."

"I would highly recommend Ken for electrical work. We had our full electrical panel replaced and service upgraded with him. Before we had it done, we had an issue with the main breaker repeatedly tripping- leaving us without power. He came out the same morning and did a quick fix to hold us over until permitting- we were not without power for long, thanks to him. The panel replacement and service upgrade was not a quick job, but he stayed late until it was finished and we couldn’t be happier with the quality. His prices are reasonable, as well. I will be calling him if we need an electrician in the future!"

"WB Lightning Rods did an excellent job installing lightening rods on our home. The owner stayed onsite the entire time to supervise the work. He took extra care to plan the rod and cable placement to ensure the proper protection and retain the aesthetics of our home. His crew were knowledgeable, polite, neat and efficient. We could not be more pleased with the results."

Customers say: Quick response

"We received excellent service from NILES HULL, who performed a pipe repair for a hose attachment in our driveway. The job was $533, and was done well, with pleasant, knowledgeable service. I highly recommend Harris as we've used them for many plumbing and electric projects in recent years. NILES HULL was knowledgeable, caring, and attentive to detail. They stand behind their work. Electrical questions, answered by experts

A C-wire is typically blue, but don’t rely on colors to find which wire is which when it comes to thermostat wires. The C-wire may also be black, brown, or purple. Instead, if you’re looking for the C-wire, look at the thermostat panel for a wire connecting to “terminal C,” or call in a pro to help you look for a C-wire.

The easiest way to determine the amperage of your electrical outlets is to check the corresponding breaker in your home’s breaker panel. The number is likely noted on the circuit breaker. If that fails, it’s possible to tell 15-amp and 20-amp outlets apart by looking at them. Fifteen-amp outlets have two vertical holes, while 20-amp outlets have one vertical hole and one T-shaped hole.

Yes, an AFCI (arc fault circuit interrupter) outlet also has line and load terminals, although it uses different technology than a GFCI and offers a different kind of protection. AFCIs monitor for internal arc faults, a type of wiring problem that can start an electrical fire.

Thankfully, LED lights use less electricity than incandescent lights, meaning you won’t spend as much on utility bills by using these light strips. Each 5-meter LED light strip will cost about $3 per year on your energy bill.

It might seem tempting to use 14-gauge wires for your outlets, as they can run a little cheaper. But, when it comes to electrical work, it’s best not to cut costs less you overload your circuit. A 12-gauge wire will ensure that you’re protecting the outlet (and your circuit breaker) from any potential overloads that might incur, as it can handle a little more amplitude than a 14-gauge wire.
