"I recently moved to a senior home that was built in 1965; VERY little has been done to update this place since then. The oak hardwood floors were a MESS! They were very worn and full of (pet) stains throughout. While the quote from 3M was slightly higher than another quote I got, they were available when I needed them. Marcelo and his crew did a FANTASTIC job! The floors look amazing. They also put oak hardwood in the master bedroom and hallway that had been there when built but replaced by previous owners with cheap snap flooring in a hideous color. It was a BIG job but the results were beautiful. I would highly recommend 3M Mello Hardwood Floors, Inc. to anyone who asks. They were professional and answered any questions I had to my full satisfaction. 3M will be my “go to” for any future work I may require."

"I hired Extreme Flooring because they had the lowest price. But more important, after speaking to Steve, I got the impression that he really knew the business. Boy was I right! Start the first row of vinyl planks along the longest or most visible wall in the room. This will create a clean, straight foundation row to build off of. You can lay your laminate flooring in whichever direction you'd like. However, you should check your materials' instructions and see what the maximum length limit is for the installation. This differs according to the brand you buy, but you can expect it to be around 40 linear feet. Depending on the size of the room, this might dictate which direction you end up laying the planks.

You should strip and wax hardwood floors every six months to two years. The actual length of time between stripping and waxing depends on the wear and tear that the floors see. Stripping and waxing floors can help repair hardwood floor damage and give the room a fresh look.

In most cases, carpeting isn’t kind to the wood that it’s attached to. Most carpet installation uses adhesive or nailing strips, both of which will damage wood. Conversely, you can choose to use an adhesive designed to be removed from wood, in which case carpeting can actually protect your hardwood stairs.

Laminate flooring takes about 24 to 48  hours to settle. Before this, planks are not completely acclimated to your home, and walking on them could cause shifting and permanent damage to the flooring. You should allow floorboards to acclimate for 48 to 72 hours before installing so that they can adjust to your home’s humidity and temperature levels, but they will continue to acclimate and settle after installation. For this reason, avoid placing any furniture in the room for 72 hours after installation.

Your floors will continue to settle for a few months after installation, becoming less bouncy as they rest.
