"Aldo and the Team were phenomenal! They are consummate professionals. They moved everything, and put things back perfectly. Drying/curing time for two first floor rooms was about a week. The floors looked so beautiful, I was considering leaving the furniture in other rooms. LOL. Well done!!!"

"Very pleased with the result. Stephen spent a lot of time talking with my wife and I about our options and gave us a fair price quote. The floor had been covered with carpet for the last 50 years, and when it was ripped up, he discovered that there were pet stains. Realizing that we were price conscious, Stephen said he and the team would take the extra time to try to mitigate the stain at no additional cost to us. I'd definitely recommend Extreme Flooring."

Flooring Installation questions, answered by experts

Carpeting with a low pile is both slip-resistant and soft, making it one of the safest types of flooring in the case of slips and falls. In order to be fully ADA-compliant, carpet shouldn’t exceed the thickness of half an inch, and you should secure the edges to the floor to prevent trip hazards.

Other ADA-compliant flooring options include hardwood, laminate, or ceramic tile with a gritty, anti-slip surface. Ceramic or porcelain tile are actually some of the best types of flooring for wheelchair users.

With proper care and maintenance, hardwood floors can last for decades or even centuries. Solid hardwood and tropical wood, in particular, have the potential to be sanded and refinished multiple times, extending their lifespan. However, the longevity of hardwood floors also depends on factors such as the wood species, quality of installation, and the level of foot traffic in that area of your home.

If you live in a region with high humidity, carpet bubbling can occur regularly. A dehumidifier can help keep your carpet flat during the most humid months.

To prep a floor for painting, start by sweeping and cleaning any loose debris that could puncture the protective material. Take out as much furniture as possible. Then lay plastic, canvas, rosin paper, or masonite sheets across the room, securing them at the edges with masking tape. Plan your painting so that you minimize the chances you’ll step in and track any splatters.

Poured-in-place terrazzo flooring is more durable than tile. In fact, it’s one of the most durable types of flooring on the market. It can last anywhere from 40 to 100 years, depending on maintenance. On average, you can expect your terrazzo floor to last about 75 years, but you will have to make repairs as needed.
