"Our vinyl plank flooring had cracka I.n it. Al moved the furniture in half the room rand removed the planking. He replaced the damaged planks and reinstalled the floor. Others suggested cutting out the bad planks and gluing in replacements. Al s method seems the better choice. It is closer to installing a new floor Glad we chose Al. Looks great."

"The work done was fabulous. We had the floors refinished in a newly purchased home. Aldo was wonderful in helping us pick just the right stain color to help enhance the wood. "These guys did an amazing job repairing the squeaky subfloor in my master bedroom they came the day after I called, lifted the carpet, diagnose the problem, bought the supplies made the repairs replaced the plywood, returned my carpet back to its original space, put all the furniture back and cleaned up meticulously. Carpet is most often affixed to the floor by tacks in tack strips rather than nailed or glued directly to the subfloor. The tack strips are nailed to wood subfloors. Even if you want to install carpet over concrete, you’ll adhere the tack strips to the concrete with masonry nails or a liquid adhesive.

To prep a floor for painting, start by sweeping and cleaning any loose debris that could puncture the protective material. Take out as much furniture as possible. Then lay plastic, canvas, rosin paper, or masonite sheets across the room, securing them at the edges with masking tape. Plan your painting so that you minimize the chances you’ll step in and track any splatters.

If you don’t put padding under your carpet, the carpet won’t be protected from wear on the underside. This could result in a shorter life span for your carpet and increased carpet repair costs over time. An unpadded carpet can also be less comfortable to walk on, depending on your subfloor and the type of carpet.

For rooms with an even number of feet (10 x 12, for example), you can technically just multiply them together to get the number of square feet in the room (10 feet x 12 feet = 120 sq. ft.). For irregularly shaped rooms or areas that aren’t even square feet, converting to inches will be your best bet for an accurate measurement.

Most cities accept old carpet as bulk trash, typically without any nails or glue on the base of the carpet. You may be required to request a specific pickup and wrap the carpet into specific bags. You can also visit your local recycling center and pay a small fee to have the carpet materials recovered.
