"I had a great experience with Design Temp from start to finish. We moved into our home about four and a half years ago, and last summer we noticed water under the air handling unit in our basement crawl space. After doing some research, I was referred to Design Temp, and I’m glad I was. Eddie and his team were punctual and even sent a text ahead of time to let us know they were on their way, which I really appreciated. The coordination was impressive—the parts delivery showed up just minutes before their trucks arrived, so everything stayed on schedule. While working in and around our home (and our pets), the team was consistently polite, professional, and respectful. We also happened to hit an unusually hot stretch of weather—close to 98 degrees in NJ mid-April—and they made sure our new system was up and running in time for us to stay comfortable that same evening. What stood out most was how thorough they were at the end of the job. They didn’t just finish the installation—they too"

"They were very responsive, knowledgeable and fairly priced. The work was done when they said it would be, and it was done well. They were also friendly and took great care while doing the work, worked with me finding the best place for the install, and very respectful of my home. Worth every penny!!!!"

"Wayne did a thorough and professional job of disconnecting my gas cooktop and sink faucet/disposal/dishwasher prior to my new counter install, and then reconnecting everything after the counters were installed. He fit my disconnect/reconnect into his work schedule to fit when my counters would be installed with as little disruption to our water/gas services as possible. Wayne does excellent, professional work. I will hire him again for my next plumbing or hvac project."

"I want to personally thank Keith for coming out 3 days in a row to repair and fix everything that my grandfather messed with on this old furnace. The extent of what my grandfather did and the patience Keith had with it was outstanding! I will never call another soul to do any repairs on my home. Thank you so much sir."

Nest Installation questions, answered by experts

No, ground bees are not detrimental to the health of your lawn. In fact, the small holes created by ground bees can actually offer beneficial aeration which moisturizes and nourishes the ground. Additionally, ground bees are highly regarded as vital pollinators, meaning they help plants to reproduce. Unless you’re battling a severe infestation, leaving ground bees undisturbed can boost the health of your yard and the environment.

Metal coil-shaped retriever tools (around $50) help remove empty nests and debris from chimneys. Unless you are sure the nest is vacant, we recommend calling in a pro to handle bird’s nest removal from chimneys, vents, roofs, and other hard-to-reach places.

Gnats may eventually go away on their own, but it depends on the source of their attraction. If the environment that’s attracting them—such as overwatered plants, moist areas, or food debris—isn't addressed, they can persist or even increase in numbers. Reducing moisture, improving drainage, and cleaning up organic matter can help eliminate them. Without these changes, gnats are likely to stick around and continue breeding, making it important to remove their breeding grounds to get rid of them for good.

Moles breed once a year, marking March on their calendars as peak season. However, their breeding season can start as early as February and wrap up in May. Their gestation period is 4 weeks, with litters ranging from 2 to 6 little ones. They are considered all grown up by the three-month mark, making them ready for parenthood.

Carpenter ants don’t eat wood. It’s a common misconception because many kinds of termites eat wood as well as live inside it. Carpenter ants, however, are omnivores and only chew into wood to create pathways and nests, discarding the chewed wood as frass which is a major indicator of a carpenter ant problem. They prefer to eat smaller insects, sweet things like spilled honey, and sources of protein like pet food.
