"I recently had Best Dressed Electric replace my doorbell chime and fix some lighting issues in my home, and I’m extremely satisfied with the service. They were prompt, courteous, and efficiently resolved both issues. The doorbell chime works perfectly now, and the lighting is brighter than ever. I highly recommend them for their excellent workmanship and professionalism. Thank you for your excellent work!"

"They knew the job, and could complete it comfortably except a small touch up issue in fan install. They cleaned up the place when they left. The only issue was that the bathroom light blew up (for some unknown reason) once they left. I tried to reach them but no response whatsoever. This left me one simple option of changing the bulb, and it worked !! The main concern was NO response of any kind the day job was completed. The other issue is the whole discount options via Angie's is NO real discount. The $99 coupon for a $250 job is all just a marketing trick, and nothing more.."

"Highly recommend AMF for all your electrical needs. The whole crew were very professional. Took the time to explain everything from existing issues they found and the steps they would take to repair. They had to move some furniture and other things and paid close attention to detail while cleaning up after themselves and putting everything back exactly how it was. Top notch craftsmanship"

"JA Drywall did an awesome job on the walls and ceiling and saved our dining room! The crown molding and baseboards were the finishing touches we needed to make our living room stand out. His crew arrived early every day and were super friendly and professional and cleaned up the space well."

"Positive comments:
The heating system, with 3 zones works flawlessly.  Township inspectors were impressed with the install quality.
Negative comments:
All work commenced on 2/2/15.  Temperatures that week remained below freezing, so timely installation was required.  The first day several technicians showed up and began work on both the heating and electric simultaneously.  Unfortunately, scheduling beyond day 1 was difficult as other jobs became the priority.  Heat was restored on the evening of 2/5/15.
The quality of the electrical service upgrade was sub par.  A whole-house surge protector was installed incorrectly including the main wire that simply fell off (not attached).  Wiring in the box was sloppy and breakers were not labeled adequately (non descriptive).  The initial township inspection failed due to improper grounding.
Administrative:  Much difficulty in scheduling work, and too many calls to try and take care of administrative task like applying for PECO rebate and obtaining warranty information.  Owner had to complete tasks on their own.
Overall:  I've come to learn that this company's primary service is the design and installations of new kitchens and baths.  While they will quote on electric and plumbing, it is not really the direction they are going.

"They had very good availability. They came and did everything as fast as they could. It was very convenient that way. The bad would be that they painted the window seal white. It had previously been a dark color, and I am not sure if they primed it good enough. You can still see the dark color through it. If we used them again we would go over our specifications a little more carefully before hand."

Chandelier Installation questions, answered by experts

You should hire a licensed electrician who is insured to perform any electrical work on your home, including lighting installation. States have different requirements for licensing and certifying electricians, so use Angi’s state licensing tool to review local guidelines.

Here are a few questions to ask electricians before hiring:

  • How many years of electrical experience do you have?

  • Are you licensed, bonded, and insured?

  • Do you work with subcontractors?

  • Do you provide a guarantee or warranty on your work?

  • What is the timeline for completion?

  • How do you handle change orders?

  • Can you provide at least three customer references?

The most common size of can light ranges from four to seven inches. The size that’s needed for your home depends on the area you’re looking to illuminate, the height of your ceiling, and the size of your wall.

The majority of potential burglars are amateurs looking to make a quick buck after breaking and entering. By installing motion-sensor lights, alarm systems, and security cameras, throughout the home, there’s a good chance you will deter crime on your property.

Chandelier weights vary widely depending on the size, materials, and design. If you have the original packaging or any documentation that came with the chandelier, it may provide information about its weight.

Otherwise, consider checking the manufacturer's website or contacting the manufacturer directly for specifications related to your chandelier model. Alternatively, if the chandelier is installed, you may find weight information in the installation manual. If all else fails, consult a professional installer to learn more about the weight and if it’s appropriate for spaces like a dining room.

Low-voltage landscape lighting costs about $120 per fixture to install. You may need to install a 12-volt transformer, too, to ensure the lighting system runs safely. For a six-fixture low-voltage landscape lighting setup, expect to pay around $1,000. A major reason people choose low-voltage landscape lighting is to reduce the risk of shock, making it safer to operate the outdoor lighting system.
