"Brian and his team replaced my roof, gutters, installed gutter screens, and replaced rotted wood molding. They were professional and kept me informed on the progress of the job with pictures from their drone. They were not the cheapest but based on the excellent work they did repairing siding after a storm a couple of years ago, I selected them to do my roof. I may have them build me a new deck and repair my retaining wall in the future."

"I initially spoke to Gary on 9/27/2024, then again on 9/28/2024. His crew were able to remove all existing shingles, underlayment, & flashing & install the complete GAF Lifetime roofing system on Friday, 10/4/2024. That GAF roofing system has a 50 year transferable warranty. They draped the house to prevent damage to the sidelong & windows, plus put down tarps on the ground in the debris field. New 6â leaders & gutters were installed on Saturday 10/5/2024, & the leaf filters on Monday, 10/7/2024 (because of a delivery delay). Gary kept in touch throughout the process, answered all my questions, & made sure the clean up was thorough. His price was very reasonable for the quality of the product used & the labor entailed. I would highly recommend his business, Select Masonry & Construction. And, only 30% down, & the remainder upon completion. Diane in West Orange"

Landscapers typically charge $25 to $50 per person per hour, which equals around $50 to $100 per hour for a two-person crew. These rates can vary depending on your location, the size of staff needed for the job, and overall job type. For example, a larger crew will be needed for structural additions and hardscaping versus planting flowers.
When it comes to landscapers, licensing laws vary. Landscaping architects are required to be licensed in all 50 states, whereas traditional landscaping contractors are not typically required to hold a certification. You’ll likely be working with a landscaping contractor for most residential projects. If you are redesigning your whole yard or adding in hardscape features, you will work with a landscaping architect at some point during the project. Be sure to check our state licensing tool to review the local landscaper guidelines.
As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification which include:
The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check
Required to have applicable state and local licenses
Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review
Paying to advertise their services
Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi
Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.
