"NPC 3 is unbelievably great to work with. We have a mature Japanese Red Maple that is getting a bit too large and had contracted with other tree services it a few years ago. We were neither satisfied with the results nor the cost. While looking for another tree service, we were impressed with NPC 3's reviews & lucky for us, we contacted them. First rate customer service & workmanship, Nick is extremely professional & knowledgeable. He explained the how & whys followed with his recommendation. We are extremely happy with the results and would highly recommend NPC3"

"Had a 140 ft tall pine, next to my deck. One tree service turned down the job as too risky. Another wanted thousands. Limb & Log handled the issue professional and miraculously. They pay attention to details and explain everything as they go. Great price. Awesome results."

"Ryan and his crew did a great job—got the job done— took our dead tree down expertly, just as we wanted— very efficient and professional. But he was also very amiable, easy to talk to and very “ in the know” about his job. We were very pleased with his work, and highly recommend his tree cutting company. We will definitely rehire him in the future."

Customers say: True professional

"Roger called me on Sunday, offered a free estimate and brought the needed equipment without any obligation. The pricing was very reasonable. We asked Roger to proceed with the work, which was accomplished faster than I could have imagined. One stump was very difficult as the tree had grown over a very large rock, but Roger managed it very competently. The wood chips were moved to a location of our choosing. How rare to have someone call, come to an appointment on time, provide a professional service all on the same day. Thank you Roger!"

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

There are two types of arborists: certified and consulting. A certified arborist is licensed and equipped to provide tree pruning, planting, fertilizing, monitoring, transplanting, treatment, and removal services. A consulting arborist specializes in tree appraisals, diagnosing problems and recommending treatments for illnesses. However, they will not provide these services themselves. Most consulting arborists are certified arborists who can refer you to a tree service that can administer the correct treatments.

White vinegar does not kill ivy on trees because its acetic acid concentration is not high enough to overpower it. Vinegar is an effective herbicide for weeds and other plants, but not for the strength of most ivies, including poison ivy and English ivy. You should use an herbicide to kill ivy, such as one with glyphosate, imazapyr, or triclopyr.

For small trees, tree removal should take just a couple of hours to complete. Assume that a mid-sized tree will take between four and eight hours, depending on the extent of the equipment required and the health of the tree. Remember to add up to two hours for stump removal. Larger trees could take as long as one or two working days, about eight hours each.

You should not trim an oak tree in the summer. Oak trees are especially susceptible to disease, and open tree wounds are an invitation for beetles that carry tree-killing fungus. If there’s no risk that the oak tree will do damage to your property or hurt someone, it’s best to save the trimming for fall or winter. If you can, seal the wound with latex to prevent fungus from getting inside.

It may be possible, but transplanting a large, mature tree can be a tricky project, and some trees handle it better than others. If you have a tree you need to save and are considering transplanting it elsewhere, we highly suggest calling a tree removal service and arranging a consultation to see what they say (and how much a full transplant would cost).
