"Michael went out of his way to help and find solutions for our problems. He was super flexible and patient, and had lots of knowledge to share about the job. Our communication back and forth was very helpful. The team was awesome, cleaned up everything afterwards, and were very easy to have in the house. Would recommend!"

"They took a long time to complete the project. We asked them to come back to add more peastone to the area and also to fix an area that needed to be corrected (not their fault). The owner agreed to return that week but he never did. The landscaping looks nice but I have reservations on their follow-through."

Fountains questions, answered by experts

One reason you may want to fill in your pond is the cost of maintenance. Pond cleaning may cost about $1,000 for an annual cleanup, or monthly visits may cost $75 to $100 per visit. If you don’t want to spend that much per year on pond upkeep, you may consider filling in your pond.

Backyard water features can add serenity to your property, drown out neighborhood noise, and serve as a focal point to a stunning landscape design. In some cases, a properly installed and maintained water feature can add to your home’s value. Just be sure to check with your insurance company before installation since some features may affect your premiums.

A koi pond may add value to your home if it’s a feature sellers are looking for. Like pools, ponds can affect your property value depending on their condition, whether they’re a popular selling point, and how well they’re incorporated into your home’s landscape.

Koi fish should be in the shade and can’t be directly exposed to the sun. Consider building your koi pond in a shaded spot or hanging an awning over the top to control the amount of sunlight coming in. Learn how to design a landscape properly.

Yes, natural pools can get algae since they use the same filtration processes as lakes or streams. However, you can reduce the risk of algae by adding more algae-fighting plants and not installing your natural swimming pool in direct sunlight, as it promotes algae growth.
