"I had a great experience with Freedom Framing! Matthew was very easy to work with and did a great job for a great price! Matthew is not only a great carpenter he is a very good project manager, ensuring the supporting contractors needed to complete the work arrived on time and performed top quality work. I would strongly recommend him for any construction work needed. I will be calling Matthew for the next project on my list! Excellent job Matthew! Thank you very much!"

Small jobs welcome

"Adam and his team did an amazing job on completing a backyard fence for my family. He was hardworking and detailed with the work. Kept me updated through every step of the way from the permit process, ordering materials and check-ins as the build was happening. Our fence is great! He also completed a custom railing and gate to attach to our existing deck. Will definitely be using we do it all again for future projects."

"Tyler (owner) was extremely proactive to come and review our deck power-washing and sanding and re-stiaining requirements. Very prompt estimate was emailed within under 2 hours! Tyler and his 2 brothers (Steve and Alex) and 4th staff (Torey) came over the next 2 days. Steve and Torey first did a thorough power-washing session. They then expended highly meticulous effort to sand the deck railings and posts - a very extensive and patient process by both Steve and Torey. On the second day Tyler and the Team continued refining the deck sanding as well as doing the floor sanding. The team is very courteous not only to my wife Jacqueline and me (Ron Yannone) but among themselves as well!! They helped each other and Tyler and Steve often gave nice suggestions to the co-workers to enhance the workmanship. The staining process involved using mittens for getting extremely great painting on each rail post - a slow but superb finish. The rail posts look new! The deck is almost 30 years old and looks almost new! While they were finishing the staining of the deck, Tyler addressed a bowing fence issue we had wanted done for 7 years! He completed a creative solution immediately and after a little over an hour had the fence position really well! We instantly hired him to come back to do the roof of our carport. Tyler will get back to us with the estimate and plans for completing the job. Tyler will also address our front steps and help get the correct sealing to preserve it. We are amazed at the patience and professionalism by the TEAM. Tyler has become like a "son" to my wife Jackie - as she is a meticulous individual and we appreciate this and the kind demeanor immensely. The workmanship in what Quantum does is above and beyond what one would expect from a 5-star business."

Fencing questions, answered by experts

When it comes to materials, wire fences are the cheapest option. The average cost for a 150-foot wire fence is $1,350. The next cheapest material is chain-link, followed by wood.

As far as the style of fence, smaller, less private fences are cheaper than large, elaborate fences that block your whole yard. That’s why split-rail fences are the cheapest option for wooden fences. They cost roughly $10 to $30 per linear foot.

There are many pros and cons to vinyl and composite fencing. Both fencing types offer longer lifespans than wood fencing, with some notable advantages. Whether one is better for you will depend on a few factors. Composite is better if you prefer recycled materials, while vinyl is extremely easy to clean.

Also, consider the disadvantages: vinyl can be more expensive, while composite fencing fades during the first six months.

Pickets should sit at least 2 inches off the ground to encourage groundwater to flow underneath. Pickets can sit as much as 6 inches off the ground, but setting it any higher could let pets in or out of your yard unintentionally. These are not to be confused with the fence posts anchored underground with soil or concrete footing.

There are several privacy fence ideas, including DIY temporary fence ideas. You can try using pallets, which is a great way to add privacy and recycle materials. You can use a traditional square or lattice trellis as a temporary privacy fence, which provides seclusion and allows you to add flowers and climbing vines for a living design element.

The standard height for a split rail fence is three or four feet. This height requires two to three horizontal rails, making it ideal for homeowners wanting a budget-friendly split rail fence. If you’re hoping to contain agile livestock or animals like dogs, geese, or goats, you may prefer to install a six-foot tall fence with four or five rails or a four-foot-tall fence with three horizontal rails. This will help prevent animals from climbing, crawling, or jumping through the rails.
