"This was my first time hiring a contractor and I admit it was quite daunting. After meeting with two other contractors and "testing" Dallastra, I felt they were up to the task. Not only that, I was on vacation in Italy while the work was done! Dallastra held to the promise of keeping me updated the whole time. You can technically install tile over tile, but we don’t suggest it. Porcelain and ceramic tiles are made from clay, but porcelain tiles are fired in a kiln at a higher temperature. This makes them more durable, but it also means porcelain is more expensive than ceramic at $3 to $5 more per square foot.
