"Excellent. Within a month, the project was done. I had a visit within a few days of requesting an estimate and within 3 days I had the estimate. Brian suggested that I have the closet prepared for shelving ( replace horsehair plaster with drywall) before proceeding and that's just what I did with the weeks between getting estimate and getting appointment for installation. The shelving is just right so I appreciate accuracy of the design. I wondered if it would be enough shelving- it absolutely is"

A family owned business established in 1991. We offer the highest quality materials for the best prices-we guarantee it. Expert installation, quick response, immediate installation and lifetime warranty provides complete customer satisfaction.

"ClosetCraft installed 3 closets and a pantry for us back in 2014. Recently we had a minor issue in one closet. Eshai replied instantly to my e-mail and had it fixed straight away. It is very reassuring to find a business whose lifetime warranty really means something. All of our other closets have been holding up great. I'd highly recommend their services to anyone."

"We are so glad we went with Matt Silva & his team for our much-needed kitchen update. The finished result is functional, modern, and beautiful, as we had hoped. But the best part was working with this group of pros. Every person who was in/out of our house over the space of a few weeks was courteous and professional, respectful of our space, tolerant of our senior dog, and extremely meticulous in caring for our home as if it were their own. Matt visited us a few times before we committed to the work. Each time he answered a myriad of questions, showed product examples, made recommendations, and helped us decide on several key factors. Matt replied to emails promptly, and he always let us know when to expect team members to arrive. As with any reno, there were a couple minor snags but each was addressed promptly and to our full satisfaction. We can't say enough about how thoroughly these guys cleaned up every day. We never once tripped over a tool, found a nail on the floor, or had to worry about the dog getting into something he shouldn't. They sealed off our kitchen carefully, kept the yard gate closed as requested, and always covered the floor in the work zone. We used our own electrician but were very happy with the plumber, quartz supplier, and tile installers Matt coordinated. All of them showed up as scheduled and were as professional and thorough as Matt's core team. Honestly if this group did deck reno, exterior painting, and driveway paving we'd hired them for all those projects too. We have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending Kitchen Tune-up of Peabody."

Al Carbonneau got his start in insulation while working for a local company. In 1985 Al Carbonneau Insulation and Son was formed. It was a 1-man operation started in the trunk of a car. A few weeks later Al got a trailer for his car. As the work continued to come in Al was able to lease his first truck, a 1983 ford stake body, which he outfitted with a steel frame and canvas to protect him from the elements. Life was good. Somewhere around 1987 Al began installing galaxie central vacuum systems along with the fiberglass batt insulation. In that same year Al purchased his first blown-in insulation machine. It was a green force two. Economically speaking the economy was booming. In and around 1988 Al formed a partnership with his brother Bob. They installed drywall and insulation and at one point had about 40 men working for them. Well, as we're seeing today, the bubble burst. The economy stalled and overnight A & B Carbonneau Enterprises was dissolved. Al went back on his own and started Energy Resources Inc, however by 1991 the economy was so bad Al was forced to file for bankruptcy. All was lost, including the family house. We were now renters. It was during these 3 years that the Carbonneau’s were officially out of business. In 1994 Mike Carbonneau decided to take a leave of absence from what was at the time U-Lowell to take a job as, what else, an insulator. He promised his mother that he would go back and wouldn't you know, 14 years later still hasn't fulfilled that promise. From 1994-1997 Mike owned and operated Mike Carbonneau Insulation Company, mostly working for another insulation company as a sub-contractor. Finding it very hard to find work on my own. Al on the other hand had moved to North Carolina and took a job driving a truck. Then in May of 1997 I received a call from my dad, he asked if I'd be interested in starting a new business with him. He said he'd call on some of his old customers. I was extremely reluctant, would we have enough work to survive or would this business fail like all of the previous ones had? In June of 1997 Mike and Al Carbonneau formed Carbonneau Insulation Company. Focused and determined, they set out on foot building relationships one contractor at a time. As the years moved on we added seamless aluminum gutters and wire closet shelving to our list of services. In 2008 we became an LLC and purchased our first warehouse. We'd like to thank all of our past customers for their support and would also like to welcome all new ones.

"Carbonneau is great! This is why I am writing a review even without having been asked personally or by email - which I only do when job or product is outstanding. Carbonneau did two insulation projects in my house this year. A large one in September, involving attic insulation (cellulose, lifting of platform) and insulating a large unused/unheated room in the second floor. This first one was done so diligently and cleanly, that I immediately texted Mike Carbonneau to thank him for his and his team's professionalism. Also, the team was friendly, and it seems they all get along very well and work hand-in-hand. The second project was done yesterday: insulating two crawl spaces through which the house was loosing quite some energy. These spaces were tricky due to their small size and complex geometry. It probably took the team longer than they had anticipated. Nonetheless, they continued to the end at the quality that they had delivered in the first project. Not rushing through things, great care! I love it when I feel I'm in hands of people who put the same care as if it was their own house!"

12 employees. Uses subs for electrical & plumbing. Cost is determined by the job. No travel charges. May contact through email.

"You may have seen my past superlative reviews of Sergio and his crew. Nonetheless, read on. This time, my 6th hiring Sergio, I hesitated to contact him because I thought my job too small. But I had to give it a try because of all the many workers I have hired, none compares with Sergio. He took my job, I believe, out of a sense of loyalty—a quality in short supply in a mad business environment. As always, the work performed could be ranked with the skills of master craftsmen. For a particular detail, Sergio made a special trip to manage the task himself. And, Sergio is a gentleman, always calm and respectful—a refreshing change from some other contractors."

Closets questions, answered by experts

Adding a mudroom is one of the most budget-friendly home additions compared to other projects, costing between $8,000 and $16,000 on average. Not only is the room often quite small, but it also requires minimal fixtures or wiring to make the room practical. The most costly features include a weatherproof floor and an exterior door.

The vertical space between closet shelves depends on what you're storing. For clothing like shirts and sweaters, 10 to 12 inches is enough. Towels and linens need 12 to 15 inches, while tall storage bins may require 18 inches or more. Overcrowding your shelves can reduce accessibility and increase clutter, so be sure to leave breathing room for your items.

Costs depend on material type, size, and additional features like lighting or sliding doors.

Bump-out additions can add some space to a closet without requiring any significant structural work. This entails pushing back the existing rear or side of the closet, simply moving the wall into either an adjacent room or unused space. For ground-floor closets, this could even be extended to the exterior of the home, but that has its own complications. Bump-outs are a good discussion to have with your contractor if you’re just looking to increase the space a little—not renovate the entire closet space.

Plywood, MDF (medium-density fiberboard), and solid wood are all popular options for closet shelving. Plywood and solid wood are sturdy and ideal for extended shelves or heavy items. MDF is a budget-friendly choice for light to moderate storage, but it can sag under heavy weight if not adequately supported. Wire shelving is another alternative that allows airflow, making it especially useful in humid spaces such as laundry rooms or basements.
