"I first hired Art Stone Pavers and Ivan DaSilva, owner and chief carpenter/designer/renovator, to redo my master bathroom, based on a recommendation from another 5 star Angie list company. He did such a professionally beautiful job at a reasonable cost, I hired him to completely redo my two other baths.
Well that project went so well, I subsequently hired him to rebuild three decks around the house - two rebuilt from scratch- then to repaint the house; then to replace 6 windows and three outside doors. I think you get the picture - he is a master craftsman, a man of many talents, including some keen design suggestions. In short, this company and Ivan are the best home contractors I've ever hired.
Ivan is a meticulous finish carpenter, always doing what is "right" not just "easy." He consulted with me on every project and helped me decide on design/color/materials. His estimates were real, often doing some extra work when called for, even if it wasn't in the contract. His prices were more than reasonable -less than some of the larger contractor firms, yet his quality of work was second to none.
I don't usually recommend anyone without a few caveats - but, in this case I have to give Ivan and Art Stone Pavers my highest recommendation without  any qualifications.
Hire them for almost any home renovation project and you will not only not be disappointed, you will get more than you ever thought, done right, and at the right price.
I have to say I debated whether to publish this high recommendation here- knowing it would bring him more work- because I still have another couple of projects I'd like him to do :)."

"Underhill Handyman Services were chosen to do some repairs to some floor support beams that I had some concerns with when I bought my house. During the estimate, Chirs , and Dustin were on time to see what needed to be done. They were very knowledgeable and polite. During their walkthrough they found one more area of concern that the home inspector missed. Their quote was (I believe) fair, and honest. A date was scheduled for the work, and again... they were on time. They came in and went over the job again, and got the supplies for it. When they got back... they hit the ground with their feet running. After the job was finished (ahead of schedule) they cleaned up after themselves and walked me through what was done, and why they did it. True professionals. If you have something to be done around your house... call them. You won't regret it."

Outdoor Kitchens questions, answered by experts

In most cases, yes, an outdoor living space adds value to your home. The trick to your best return on investment is to choose high-quality building materials that will look nice and durable without crossing the line into total luxury that becomes cost-ineffective. For example, there’s no need to install marble tiles around your pool, but a durable and aesthetically pleasing deck will go a long way.

There are several ways to save money and keep costs down when building an outdoor kitchen. Building on an existing patio can reduce the cost of a new foundation, especially if it's close to the house. You can also save on utility line installation by opting out of a sink and using a built-in propane or charcoal grill. If you have the skills, tackling parts of the project yourself—like building or finishing cabinets, installing fixtures, and constructing seating—can lead to significant savings. Reusing appliances you already have is another great way to cut costs. Finally, consider starting small with just the essential components and adding more features over time as your budget allows.

While it is possible to do this kind of project at any point in the year, save it for the mildest parts of winter if you can. That way, your backyard won’t be under construction during prime grilling season. Plus, contractors tend to be less busy on outdoor projects then, so you might get a better deal and the installation might take less time.

Pallet wood can withstand all kinds of outdoor weather conditions, which is part of why pallet fences are so appealing to DIY-ers. You can weatherproof the wood further before you paint or stain it, as well. Pallet fences are low-cost, easy to install, and can withstand sun and rain exposure without rotting.

For outdoor kitchens, it's best to use wood that is naturally resistant to weather elements like water and heat, which can cause fading, mold, or mildew. Excellent choices include teak, Brazilian walnut, white oak, and mahogany. Avoid softwoods such as pine and cedar, as they are more susceptible to damage and can catch fire easily. Regardless of the wood you choose, it should be pressure-treated for extra protection and regularly maintained with sealants, oils, and stains.
