"Joyce Cooling and Heating installed a new high-efficiency Lennox furnace and air conditioner. The installation looks great and was professionally completed. The furnace is working fantastic and is so quiet we can't even hear it running. We are warm and comfortable all the time and the new high-efficiency design should save us money for many years to come. The technicians answered all of my numerous questions."

"Repairs were excellent and thorough "even well documented". The tech found units low on coolant. He identified and repaired multiple refrigerant leak points. I have dealt with many HVAC contractors over the years and Freedom Air Mechanical is one of the best. I highly recommend."

"Wonderful service from Adam! My water heater was struggling to keep up with my wife?s long showers - which by the way she heats them up hot as hell! ? Besides the point, Adam recommended sizing up the water heater in order to keep up with the demands of some crazy hot water. Incredibly fast installation process and Adam was really friendly. I would definitely recommend him to all my friends who are looking for a plumber. You should certainly give him a call!"

"I called to make on appointment for an estimate to replace our 30 year old boiler. The appointment was on my day off a few days later. Mike showed up on time. He inspected the boiler and the house, asked questions about the house and what I wanted. Gave me advice on what I wanted to do. Mike e-mailed me three quotes a few day later, with specs on the boilers. Called me a few days after that to see if I had questions. I made the appointment for the install, again, on my schedule. Mike and his crew showed up on time. We went over what was expected, and his crew was off the the races. They removed the old boiler and installed the new boiler as promised. Mike and his crew were very professional at all times. Highly recommend Ethical Home pro."

"I called NRG Management and talked to Andrew around 9:30 AM, he was in my town by 11:00 AM. My heating system had seen the end of a 30 year run, and my family was without hot water. Andrew gave me a price for the job completed that beat any of the other companies quotes, I checked reviews and I felt comfortable to do business with Andrew and NRG. Andrew said he would be over by 7:00 PM to do the install, after he finished his workday. Andrew showed up with a new Buderus boiler, a Riello burner and 4 circulator pumps, a zone board and tiger loop with flex lines, all new plumbing with copper lines. This guy is Superman, after a full day's work he came to my home and did the install so my family would have heat and hot water, he finished at 4:30 AM, WOW. Andrew replaced my whole system the same day I called, he did a clean first rate job, and beat every other quote, my boiler room looks clean and professional. I highly recommend NRG Management and Andrew, the level of expertise on the equipment recommended and the install was second to none. I got my moneys worth, plus some = 1 HAPPY CUSTOMER. 5 Stars Thanks Andrew, The Harvey's"

Install Boiler questions, answered by experts

Yes. Boilers need water to run without overheating, also known as dry firing. If you run it without a sufficient volume of water, either because of a burst pipe or a leak, you run the risk of damaging your machine or jeopardizing the safety of your home as a whole. When in doubt, shut off your boiler and repair any plumbing issues before turning it back on. Alternatively, consider installing a low-water cutoff (LWCO) before any issues arise. This gadget will protect your boiler by monitoring water levels and automatically shutting it off if it gets too low.

Probably not. Moving a boiler to a new location is a very different prospect from replacing it in the same spot, and significantly more expensive. Plus, boilers are typically carefully positioned in proximity to pipes and radiators when installed. Homeowners may want to move boilers to free up space, prevent freezing problems that have happened in winter, or solve a noise issue—but it’s a much more costly proposition.

Costs depend on system size, efficiency rating, and additional features like zoning or smart controls.

No, boilers and water heaters are not interchangeable because they serve different primary functions. Boilers are used for central heating systems, providing hot water or steam to heat your home. In contrast, a water heater's purpose is to supply hot water for daily household use, such as for faucets and showers. A water heater alone cannot supply the warm water or steam needed for a central heating system.

While they are not interchangeable, it is common to have both a boiler and a water heater. In fact, a conventional boiler often works best when a water heater system is already in place. The two systems can be combined to provide both heating and hot water, either by pairing a boiler with an indirect water heater or by installing a premade combination boiler-water heater unit. For home heating, some homeowners may also opt for a furnace instead of a boiler.

Propane is more cost-efficient than natural gas on a per-unit basis because it produces twice as much heat energy as an equivalent amount of natural gas. But propane is not ideal if you already have a gas line installed. The best choice for your home depends on the efficiency of your appliances and the amount of installation required of your fuel choice.
