During the planning to replace a summer cottage, someone had suggested that a nearby - hundreds or years old -enormous Pine tree be taken down before the cottage was replaced to avoid a much higher price if we waited until after the new cottage was built. I called and spoke with Micum of Cornerstone Tree Care. I had gotten his name from Angie's list. He had very good reviews and I particularly liked that one review said that he mentioned that a tree was healthy and he did not see the need to cut it down. I felt this was a good sign that he was not just looking for "the next job". As our tree is a "fixture" on the property and we were already going to need to take down many other trees, we really wanted to keep the tree if it was healthy. Micum spoke at length with me and understood our situation. He is very knowledgeable and I could tell that he is honest. He arranged to come to the property and even spoke with our construction manager to understand the full extent of the construction planned. Since we are in Strafford which is a bit of a distance from his offices, I offered to pay him for his consultation. The result was that Micum assured us that the tree was healthy and felt that it should be good for many years to come (a relief!). He also provided a very detailed report of his observations and also made recommendations on how to protect the tree roots during construction. I shared his detailed information with many members of my family and we all agree that contacting Cornerstone for the evaluation was a good move and we would definitely recommend contacting Cornerstone for a true Arborist's opinion

This was done as an emergency and we are thankful they got to this right away. Came out right away to check out the situation, give estimate and quote. Reasonable on price. Watched them take this down, not easy. Amazing to watch them them climb, rappel, chainsaw off limbs. Were able to land branches down, trunk, not hurt other trees or structures. Cleanup after, could not tell they were there. Everyone courteous, professional. Would definitely hire again

  • DISCH TREE EXPERTS

These guys were great! I called and within a day Billy called me back. I explained my elderly parents had just had their home insurance cancelled because of the trees on the side of the house that were deemed a hazard. He and his team arrived promptly on a Monday morning and in two short days removed the trees an ground the stumps. My parents were ecstatic and two of our neighbors were so impressed they said that Disch was their choice of companies to remove trees in our neighborhood. Price was very reasonable, but I did this entire transaction from my house in New Hampshire sight unseen. Kudos to the Disch team for professionalism, timeliness, and skill

Dan and his team were great and did amazing work. We needed limbs cleaned up over our garage, shed and swing set. We also had a few hanging trees removed from over our driveway. After they completed each section they had me come and look at it to make sure I was satisfied. I would definitely hire them again in the future. Thanks Dan for the great work. Marc Derry, N

I was floored by the amount of care taken to protect our lawn/yard when taking the tree down. Every single limb that was taken down was done with the utmost care, and lowered onto a piece of plywood to protect the lawn. The tree was greater than 60 feet tall, and was taken down in less than 2 hours. Once completed, his team raked even the smallest of branches- you would have never known they were even there. Bill even coordinated a stump grinder to be on sight once his team was done. I rarely write reviews, but I could not have been more thrilled with the work of Bill and his team. It would be a mistake to trust any sort of tree work to anyone other than Kucharski Tree Care

Tree Service FAQ

  1. How much does it cost to remove a tree?

Answer: Typically, tree removal costs between $200 and $2,000. Tree removal costs vary widely based on the number of trees being removed, the height of each tree, the diameter of each tree trunk, and accessibility to the tree. Smaller trees are usually less expensive to remove than larger ones, as are those that are more easily accessible.

  2. Do you need a permit to cut down a tree?

Answer: In many areas, you don’t need a permit to cut down a tree on your own private, residential property. But some municipalities may require tree removal permits for conservation purposes or to comply with local ordinances. When you hire a tree removal pro, they’ll be able to tell you whether you need a permit for your specific tree removal project.

  3. When is a good time to trim trees?

Answer: In most regions, the best time to trim your trees is during the winter months. During the active growing season (spring through fall), trimming your trees can leave them more vulnerable to disease and less likely to thrive. During the winter months, when trees are dormant, trimming them will cause less stress and leave them ready to grow again in the spring.

  4. What is the average cost to cut a tree down?

Answer: Tree removal costs between $200 and $2,000 per tree. Establishing an average cost can be difficult because each tree will be assessed and priced based on factors like height, trunk diameter, and accessibility. In general, smaller trees cost less to remove than larger trees, as do trees that are more accessible.

  5. How much does it cost to service a tree?

Answer: The cost to service a tree is typically between $430 and $1,320. The cost to service a tree depends on several factors, including what exactly you’d like done, the tree’s height, its health, the location of the tree, and local labor costs. The national average cost for tree services is $865. Tree trimming isn’t necessary for all trees but can improve their health and longevity by encouraging new growth.

  6. What is the difference between tree trimming and pruning?

Answer: While tree trimming and tree pruning might appear similar to the untrained eye, they serve different purposes. Tree pruning is used to thin a tree by removing unnecessary or burdensome branches. Tree trimming promotes healthy growth by trimming but not removing branches.
