"I was buying a new house, the home inspector had some questions about the attic joists and suggested I have a professional take a look at them. I needed it done quickly and I called three contractors. Matt from MMP was the only one that called me back the same day and agreed to come look at them the next day. He showed up on time, suggested a remedy and gave me an estimate. After buying the house I had him complete the work. It was done as promised in a very tight and dirty attic space, they cleaned up before leaving. I also chose Matt to replace my roof after getting three estimates. The crew did the complete job, chimney flashing, ice and water shield, small roof repair and venting channels in the attic. Clean up was great, no mess left in the yard. He was not the lowest estimate but all the work was done without any additional charges. I was very pleased with the results."

"Torin is an incredibly professional contractor. He built custom shelving for my living room, as well as a custom bench. Both came out better than I could have imagined. He asked great questions and really was able to make my vision come to life. I was impressed by his efficiency in finishing these projects while still giving the attention to detail that really wowed me. He will be my go-to for all future contracting needs. He is very reasonably priced, works efficiently and doesnt take forever to finish a job, and does exceptional work."

Customers say: Quick response

"Can't speak highly enough of Paul and Jay and the job they did for us. It started out as just adding windows to the screened in porch and some insulation and walls in the space underneath to adding a roof over the small sun room on the side of the house to stop the waterfall coming through! Paul was very quick to respond to messages and no changes ever phased him. A complete pro from start to finish. The people he recommended for the electrical were top-notch as well. We have just moved back to the States from overseas and have never lived in this area so he became our go to guy with questions on services in the area and he never led us astray! We have more projects that we will be doing in the future and he will be the one to do them."

"Very happy with the work they did. They showed up when they said they would. Finished the job ahead of schedule. Cleaned up after themselves each day. I will hire them to do projects around my home. No need to search for another contractor"

Unfinished Carpentry questions, answered by experts

Framing most homes takes anywhere between five and eight weeks to complete. You’ll need to account for inclement weather conditions, material shipment times, the number of crew members, and the weight of your materials. If the weather is too hot, wet, or cold for the installation, this process could take closer to eight weeks.

Bump-out additions can add some space to a closet without requiring any significant structural work. This entails pushing back the existing rear or side of the closet, simply moving the wall into either an adjacent room or unused space. For ground-floor closets, this could even be extended to the exterior of the home, but that has its own complications. Bump-outs are a good discussion to have with your contractor if you’re just looking to increase the space a little—not renovate the entire closet space.

There are a few easy ways to locate a wall stud without a stud finder. First, try knocking on the wall with your knuckles. Most parts of the wall will sound hollow, but when you tap over a stud, it will sound more solid. Alternatively, since studs are spaced 16 or 24 inches apart, you can measure those distances from a corner of the room, which will always have a stud.

The best way to calculate framing costs is by basing your costs on the square footage of your home. On average, framing your home could cost anywhere between $7 and $16 per square foot.

To ensure you don’t go over budget, base your estimates on the higher end of the price range. If you know you’re going to use high-end materials or require a custom or complex build, you might even want to tack on an additional 5% of your budget.

The cost to frame a 2,000-square-foot house can fall anywhere between $14,000 and $32,000. This price can increase or decrease depending on what type of framing you choose, the quality of the materials, the project's complexity, and whether you decide to hire a professional to do the job.
