"Never having had to hire someone to fix my AC unit only to install it (and the company was not reputable), I had serious trust issues. Action was the only one to contact me of all the suggested companies. That made me even more suspicious! They were able to fit me in for the next day. Hmm, more hesitation. But I rested in Action's good reviews on HomeAdvisor and kept the appointment. I was so happy I did. Mike was fantastic. He was personable and extremely informative. He knows his AC and heat pumps really well. I look forward to having them back in a couple of weeks to clean my furnace and do some cleaning and troubleshooting on a Hearthstone gas fireplace. When one finds a company one can trust, well, stick with them and get what needs to be done, done. I am so happy to have done something so out of my nature, like trusting HomeAdvisor. "As a mechanical engineer, I can be an HVAC professionals worst nightmare. In particular, I question everything and need to verify everything. Case in point, I got 5 quotes for installing central A/C into my two story home when most people would go with 3. I can also be tough to convince if something is done that does not make sense and I am very particular about the service I am getting. So with that said, I have to say that the level of customer care, intelligent installation, quality of work, integrity and value for money that I received from McGinley and Son's was unsurpassed and just outstanding. Bill McGinley was a pleasure to work with. He gave me an exceptionally fair and competitive quote, always kept me up-to-date on things and went above and beyond call when, during mid-installation, I decided to change from straight A/C to a heat pump. He also offered some very good advice on SEER values (I know...because I validated the savings) when he could have tried to swing me into a more expensive unit. Mike McGinley (the son) did a very smart and clean installation job. The way he approached the job just made sense and how he laid out the duct work in the basement was actually pretty cool (no pun intended). The rest of the crew was also very nice and they did work hard (no complaints about being in a hot attic moving blown in insulation around to get the job done....I would have expected a few choice words from doing that disgusting job but they were professional). They showed up every day at the same time...you could set your clock by them. Overall, I enthusiastically recommend McGinley & Sons if you are thinking about installing A/C or a heat pump into your residence."
