"Provider was on time, padded the doorways, covered the hardwood floor etc. to prevent scratches and any kind of damage.  They moved everything we asked and in the time scheduled.  Andrew and Mike were very professional and the experience was delightful.  The office personnel were professional and very friendly and ensured that all the details of the furniture move were outlined by describing it on the phone and then providing a detailed invoice by email along with the appropriate waivers needed for protection of the customer and the movers.
This company does not provided trucks which must be rented by the customer, but the service we required did not require a truck.

"Very quick and efficient move. My entire move took only about 3.5 hours for a 2-bedroom apartment. They placed my furniture exactly where I wanted it to go with no damage. I will use them again."

Moving questions, answered by experts

You should transfer utilities at least two weeks before your final move-out date. It is best to schedule the turning off of all utilities 24 hours after your move. Doing so will ensure a smooth transition without any gaps in service while you are still living in the home.

Moving a house is a complex and labor-intensive process, which is why it can get so pricey, particularly if it’s a large home. In some cases, the house may need to be dismantled, moved in sections, and then reassembled at the new location, which can add significantly to the cost of the move. However, it’s typically less costly than building a new home.

The lowest-cost days to move are Monday through Thursday. Many people move on weekends for convenience, so weekdays are often more affordable for hiring movers or renting a moving truck. Ask your local moving company if they offer any discounts for certain times of the year or days of the week.

Your furnace rests at the center of one of the most complicated infrastructures in your home. Air intakes, ducts, water, electricity, and sometimes gas connect up to the system. Most of these lines were run to this point specifically to service the furnace, so they’ll need to be closed up and new ones established.  A furnace is almost always connected to the air conditioner, so you’ll probably be moving those components as well.

Moving a furnace a few feet is probably no big deal. Moving it into a different part of the house is a different story.

The first step in moving a house is to provide blueprints and assess which parts of the house you can move. The next steps are obtaining permits, inspecting the structure, securing road permits, and getting bank approval.

When it's time to move, professionals can prepare the house by disconnecting utilities, removing items, and adding support braces. The house is then lifted with steel beams, jacked up, and placed on dollies for transport. Once it’s at the new location, it gets lowered onto the new foundation, utilities get reconnected, and additional features, like porches or garages, are added.
