"We had them install a new electric heater and ac unit in in March 2024 in our old house. They were quick to come out and take a look and get us the quote for the system. They also offered to loan us portable heater to help until we could get the unit ordered since it was such a huge cost. They were great to work with all the way around!"
"The CHW Tech was unable to connect the air condition to the Nest thermostat because it was not registering but he was able to provide us with cool air until the previous HVAC company was able to come and fix the system the next day. I had to pay the CHW Tech for the entire service but was reimbursed by the original company that installed the furnace because they knew that this was their error."
"AHS is ok. They cover repairs of most everything under the roof of your house. The companies that contract with them are not always the best. You call AHS with the issue, they send a fax to the repair company and give you the contact info. If they don't contact you within 24 hours, you call them. Sometimes they answer, sometimes they don't. When they arrive (usually three days or so later), they service the item. if it has issues within the 90 days, you call AHS again, they are sent out with no charge. If the serviceman decides the unit is unrepairable, AHS will allow you to choose a replacement from their listing (usually not as good as what you have) they will install and remove your old item, or give you wholesale amount to buy and install your own. Prices vary on what you want covered and what you want the copay to be, plus where you live. For me it is 49.99 per month with a 75.00 time of service order. You can have more than one item serviced at the same time under the same fee. If you have a SEAR product the repair guys are great. Not that wild about the other ones they send out. But it is a big savings compared to calling someone on your own. The cost of service is only the 75.00 copay."

Ogallala’s hot summers and cold winters drive pests like ants, spiders, and mice indoors, especially during drought or after harvest. Prairie winds can push pests into homes, while the lake’s humidity boosts mosquito and earwig activity. Seasonal shifts, particularly after spring thaw or autumn crop harvest, often trigger spikes in pest problems, making timely, seasonal pest control treatments essential for Ogallala residents.
Helpful?
Completing pest control in Ogallala offers immediate relief from pests like spiders and rodents, improving comfort and reducing allergy triggers. Over time, you’ll protect your home’s structure from termite and carpenter ant damage, maintain property value, and lower the risk of moisture-related issues. Consistent pest management also helps prevent recurring infestations and supports a healthier, safer living environment for your household.
Helpful?
In Ogallala, hidden costs during pest control often arise from treating extensive termite damage in crawl spaces, removing wasp nests from outbuildings, or addressing rodent infestations in older basements. Persistent agricultural pests may require extra treatments, especially after heavy rains or irrigation. Homeowners may also encounter costs for sealing fieldstone foundations or for mosquito control near Lake McConaughy’s shoreline properties.
Helpful?
Yes, combining pest control with upgrades like sealing fieldstone basements, installing sump pumps, or adding attic insulation is especially effective in Ogallala. These projects address common local issues—such as moisture intrusion and gaps in older homes—that attract pests. Coordinating gutter cleaning and foundation repairs before peak pest seasons can help prevent infestations and maximize the efficiency of your pest control investment.
Helpful?
For pest control in Ogallala, keep a caulk gun and exterior-grade caulk for sealing cracks, steel wool for plugging rodent entry points, and hardware cloth for vent covers. A moisture meter helps monitor basement dampness, which attracts pests like silverfish. Store diatomaceous earth and sticky traps for local ant and spider issues, and keep weather stripping handy to reinforce doors and windows against seasonal pest entry.
