Customers say: True professional

"I was very pleased. Phipps price was in line with the other estimates I received. They did a nice clean job and were very accommodating. I chose Phipps #1 because they had legitimate insurance and #2 because I liked the equipment they use. They have a boom truck with a grappling and a built in chain saw so that they don’t have to do any dangerous climbing and cutting. They showed up when promised, finished the job efficiently and stuck with their quoted price."

"Cody and his crew did a great job taking down several trees on my property with two being very close to my house. They were careful not to damage anything and they responded quickly to do the job. The crew also did an excellent job cleaning up everything after the trees were down. I would recommend them for any tree service needs."

"This kid has some serious work ethic let me tell you. When I was approached by such a young man with his own business looking to take down some trees for me I was pretty skeptical. But boy am I glad that the wife and I took a chance on him. We personally dealt with Victor who walked us through the whole process, gave us a reasonable price for the job, and was in and out after doing some beautiful work. Cannot recommend this guy enough."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

As a general rule, the protected area should be about 1½ times as wide as the canopy of the tree’s leaves. This digging measurement can vary by tree species and the age of the tree. Of course, that can be a lot of fencing for larger trees, which is why our first step is about making difficult decisions on which trees to save.

Most tree removals take 3-8 hours, requiring additional time for stump grinding or debris hauling.

Tree roots don’t necessarily break through concrete on their own, but they can certainly take advantage of existing cracks, even very small ones. As roots grow, they expand the cracks, making them larger and leading to serious and costly foundation damage. It’s a good idea to have repairs on any foundation cracks you’re concerned about.

If the roots are still alive, the dead tree will usually try to put out new shoots. That doesn’t mean the tree will survive or that the dead parts of a tree will come back to life. If parts of the tree have died and turned gray or rotten, nothing will bring them back to life and they need to be safely removed.

If a tree isn’t pruned, it can inhibit proper growth and fruit production, cause damage to both the tree and your property, and create entry points for pests and diseases. Pruning a tree enhances its stability, appearance, shape, and growth. Pruning trees regularly can also save you money long-term by avoiding overgrown or dangerous dying trees.
