"We chose this company because of the reviews. Paid over $11,000 and still ended up with unfinished grading, high-risk tree work, cleanup, seeding, etc. The contractor repeatedly tried to change the scope, made multiple FAILED ATTEMPTS to UP-CHARGE for work already included, and consistently failed to follow through. We hired him in early October 2025 and gave him a Thanksgiving deadline, which he agreed to. When he thought we hadn?t fully moved onto the property, he never showed up?our security cameras confirmed no activity. He later admitted he only ?sparingly? put seeds down, which was shocking. He blamed weather, then claimed his tools were being borrowed. He even said giving him a deadline was ?rude.? Had he said he couldn?t commit, we never would have paid him. Unreliable, unprofessional, and deceitful. At the end of the day, he got paid for work he had no intention of completing. That?s the bottom line!"

"I’ve had difficulty finding someone to make repairs to my existing irrigation system. Everyone wants to install but not do repairs when a valve breaks or head needs replaced or there is a leak - seems to be a real shortage in the Hickory region of people who will do irrigation repairs. That was my problem until we found Austin with 828 Landscape. He is professional, a good communicator and is totally about finding the problem and fixing it. I almost hesitate to post this review because then he’ll get too busy to work on my system when I need him."

"Cohen did an excellent job replacing our front yard sod and re-seeding the side/back yard. He had to re-grade our front yard to fix some issues that our builder created and did a great job smoothing that out. He also set us up for continued success with a maintenance schedule, and has been quick to respond to any questions we had. 1 month later and our yard is the best in the neighborhood."

"Fantastic job. Chris and his team took down three really large trees and after seeing their work we asked them to trim two other trees. Chris had given me a fair quote with the caveat that the largest tree might be a little more depending on how long it took to get it down. We are so happy with their work they are coming back later this month to take down another of our four story trees. They completely cleaned up the area removing all branches and tree trunks leaving the area neater than before they got there. Will certainly recommend them to anyone needing a fair, friendly and reliable company to take care of their tree removal needs."

"In April I hired Hawkins Grading LLC to install a pipe in the ditch that ran down the side of my yard and cover it as well as create a driveway using crush and run. They were to attach a drain pipe to the pipe in the ditch. When they were done I paid them. A few days later I realized the drainage pipe had not been attached and I contacted Alex. Ten days later he came out and fixed it. First of May I sent the following text: Alex, called and got your voice mail. Could not leave a message because the voice mailbox is full. I have issues and would like you to fix them. I decided to have raised garden beds placed along the fence line where the ditch was. I had a gardener come out and walk the area. He said it could not be done; whoever covered the ditch should have leveled the land. He also said the grooves in the yard where the back hoe had come in and out should have been filled and the area where the back hoe went into the ditch should have been repaired. Call me. (See pictures) He contacted me and said he would come out. I let him know I would be gone for several days but he could still come by and look at the problems. I came home and contacted him again to find out if he had come by; he had not. Said he would come by the next day and I heard nothing. I waited until June and then had another company tp come out and look at what needed to be fixed. They repaired all of the damage done to the yard and the ditch."
