"Matt, called on everything that was done, any questions, my approval, etc. I was not home, work needed to be done, and I was going for surgery in a day and a half, I unable to do much. He had hid worker comebout. Go fet what was needed, and fix. As a 70 year old lady, this relieved a huge burden off my shoulders. I offered to pay after my surgery, but Matt was telling me, he's got this, and t I just take care of me. A huge blessing. Will be recommending him to all. Ps, when testing mailbox, it was dturduest it's ever been, YAY"

Carpet Installation questions, answered by experts

Acclimating laminate flooring cannot be rushed. Laminate flooring needs at least 48 hours to acclimate properly to its new environment, and being patient during this time can make installation go smoother because you will not be dealing with boards that have expanded or contracted during the shipping process. You will also be less likely to damage the boards during installation.

DIY carpet installation can be challenging, requiring precise measurement and cutting skills. Missteps can lead to uneven surfaces or premature wear, so thorough preparation and knowledge of proper techniques are essential.

The knee kicker tool that attaches carpet to tack strips offers some stretching capabilities, so you can use this and your own arm strength to stretch out thinner carpets across a room. But you should buy or rent a stretcher for the best possible carpet application. If you don’t want to buy or rent a stretcher, it may be worth it to skip the DIY and leave this job to the pros or risk shortening the life of your new carpet by installing it without a stretcher.

It’s less expensive to install carpeting versus laminate floors, with an average cost of $1,760. However, up-front material and labor costs aren’t the only considerations here. Laminate flooring boasts twice the lifespan of carpeting and is considered to be the wiser investment from an ROI standpoint. After all, you can lay down a rug or carpeting over the flooring, but the reverse isn’t true.

The life span of carpet in a home with children and animals depends on factors like the carpet material’s quality, how frequently you clean and maintain it, and the level of foot traffic. On average, carpets need to be replaced every five to 15 years. Signs of wear, matting, or persistent odors may indicate that it's time to contact a local flooring company to replace your carpet.
