"Great job from beginning to end. Professional in every way.

First one of the owners came to our home and carefully examined, measured, and planned the job.   Within a few days we had an emailed estimate.  The Bona Traffic  product was ordered and shipped to our home.  A schedule was set up for the job and followed.

In our opinion, the oak floors in our new home(May, 2010)were never correctly refinished. The original intstallers/refinishers did not apply the sealing base coat per the Bona Product instructions. Neither did the installers sand according to the Bona instructions.  Furthermore, the original installers/finishers not only never applied a base coat, but they also waited 4 days before applying the first coat of Bona. We have since learned from several 'hardwood floor' professionals, that time of application is of the essence and should be done within the first 24 hours of sanding. White's Flooring correctly insisted on applying Bona's base coat the same day.

Due to cupping, the first floor was not an easy job.  The floors had to be sanded down to flat, smooth bare wood .  The White's Flooring crew worked long, hard, and diligently.  Among the crew of 4(which included an owner), there was no chatting, phone calls, long lunches, etc.

The crew arrived on time with the proper equipment. They worked hard and efficiently with great attention to detail and care for our home.  The job was completed in a timely manner and exactly as outlined in their estimate.  It was a great experience;  we highly recommend White's Flooring."

"Fidel and his team were literally INCREDIBLE and I cannot recommend them enough. I got a quote from them from Angi within 10 minutes of submitting an interest form for help installing flooring in my rental property. The quote ended up being a fraction of the cost of the other contractors that reached out. Fidel was super communicative, transparent, and knowledgeable when it came to where to get flooring, what kind to get, and the cost of everything. When it came to scheduling, he was so flexible and truly accommodated my changing schedule and the schedule of the tenant. The project ended up needing some extra materials and work, which Fidel and his team took care of immediately and had things looking great in less than 2 days. They even went above and beyond to move the tenant’s things back into the home. Highly highly highly recommend Torres Flooring-don’t go with anyone besides them!!"

Floor Sanding questions, answered by experts

There are a couple of ways you can determine the depth of your well. One method is to use a device called a well sounder. This tool has a long measuring tape containing a sensor to alert you once the end reaches the water.

Or you can DIY it by using a long tape measure with a half-filled bottle of water attached to it. Lower the tape measure into your well. Once you feel tension on the tape, you’ll know the bottle has reached your static water level. This will give you an approximate idea of your well’s depth.

If you or your mortgage lender think your land survey needs to be more accurate, double-check the survey report and get at least a second opinion from the original surveyor and an inspector, if possible. Although it’s unlikely, even reputable surveying companies can make mistakes. An inaccurate survey can cause problems down the road in the case of any property line disputes, so it’s best to resolve any inaccuracies as quickly as possible.

A few different types of land surveys can help determine certain features and boundaries of your property. These include:

  • Boundary surveys describe the actual borders of a property. These are generally required when trying to get construction permits issued.

  • Location surveys provide much of the same information as a boundary survey but also include in-depth information about any improvements made to your property.

  • Mortgage location surveys are usually required by lenders and title companies before financing or offering an insurance policy.

  • Site-planning surveys are done before applying for building permits and can be issued before any major home improvements.

  • Topographic surveys provide a formal map of land elevations. It can also describe the location and size of natural features and any land improvements.

Land surveys are worth it in several scenarios including selling your home, building an addition, constructing a fence, or making major changes to your landscape. A professional land survey can help you avoid legal issues with your neighbors and confirm the value of your property. In many cases, you may be required to order a land survey to receive a construction permit or mortgage loan.

Soil testers and licensed excavators are often the professionals you hire if you need a perc test. In some cases, structural engineers will also be able to conduct the test for you. In many municipalities, you’ll need your professional on-site to dig and fill the holes with water, as well as a representative from your local building department or health department. That representative is the individual who will determine whether your test passes or fails.
