If you build added cabinets from scratch, you can expect it to take several hours or days to build each one and then another two to three days for installation. Then, after painting your new cabinets, you should allow a few weeks for the paint to dry thoroughly before installing them over your existing cabinets.

We recommend installing wall cabinets first so the base cabinets aren’t in the way. This order also prevents damage to the base cabinets if you drop tools or materials when installing the upper cabinets.

It can take anywhere from two to six hours to install bathroom cabinets, depending on the complexity of the project. Keep in mind that this doesn’t include the time to build custom cabinets if you go that route. You can also expect the project to be on the lower end of the range if you hire a pro, as opposed to DIYing the task.
