"We were very pleased with the work done by Vega Remodeling. Narcisco exceeded our expectations. We are looking forward to working with him again on future projects. Timely, conscientious and professional. A great experience with remodeling projects is not often the case, but in this instance we were thrilled to have such a smooth and positive process from beginning to completion."

"Very thorough and very pleased. They replaced facia that had been damaged by local critters, I then went on to have them replace my gutters and install leaf guard. They coordinated all of their work with my painters and installed the new gutters very professionally. After installation, the job site was cleaned up."

"

Owner comes out and looks and inspects the job from the ground. He said I bought the Angie's List special of 6 hours of repair and labor for $149.00. He said it did not include materials or additional labor which he thought would be an additional couple of hours and said material would run about $35-$50. We scheduled a date and time to do the work.

No show and no call on date scheduled to do the work. A call to them and they were behind due to rain over the past few days. Said he would get out there in the next couple of days but not what day. One of his subcontractor's or employees showed up out of the blue the next afternoon to look at the job to measure. Said he would be back the next morning. Next morning came and a no show and no call once again. The guy showed up the following morning to do the work and apologized for not showing up the day before because of being backed up. He and a helper repaired the corner in about 3 hours but the fascia board that he brought was not the same thickness as what was currently there so if you really look hard you can tell they don't match up perfectly but I can live with.

Anyhow, afterwards, the contractor tries to collect $250.00. When I questioned, the worker said that is what he was told I would owe. I called the owner and left a message without paying the balance. He called back 30 minutes later and said the balance was actually half of that which would be $125 for the material and additional labor. When I told him they were only out here about 3 to 3-1/2 hours he said he had to add them going and getting the materials too and that it was 2 workers for a total of 6 hours.

Didn't receive and inspection report on the roof which was also part of the special package. Communications and organization seem to be a problem.

"They did a nice job and the gutters look great!  The only thing that wasn't great was the lag time between buying the deal, getting the initial assessment, and then the work scheduled and complete.  From purchase to installation the job was a total of 10 weeks.  I'm very happy with the gutters I received, but think it's safe to anticipate a longer time between buying a deal and getting service when small companies get inundated with work generated by deals.  I'd absolutely use James Taylor Construction in the future and I'm glad to see them get a boost in sales.

"THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH MY WORKSHOP ROOF,WHICH WAS A RELIEF.  LEE THEN OFFERED TO REMOVE ALL THE PINE STRAW FROM THE ROOF OF BOTH MY  WORKSHOP AND HOUSE , AND REMOVE THE CLUTTER THAT WAS IN MY WORKSHOP.. SINCE IT NEEDED TO BE DONE I TOOK HIM UP ON THE OFFER. THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME I HAVE USED CRAFTSMAN DIRECT .  THEY HAVE DONE 3 OTHER MORE EXTENSIVE PROJECTS FOR ME.  ALL 4 TIMES THEY RESPONDED TO MY INQUIRY FOR AN ESTIMATE VERY PROMPTLY AND THEY ARRIVED AT MY HOME AT THE TIME THEY SAID THEY WOULD BE THERE. I WAS ALWAYS PLEASED THAT THERE WAS NEVER ANY ISSUE WITH THE QUALITY OF THE WORK THAT WAS DONE. THEY HAVE FIXED MY DECK, DID EXTENSIVE REPAIRS ON MY WORKSHOP AND THEY HAVE FIXED NUMEROUS THINGS IN MY HOUSE..  CRAFTSMAN DIRECT HAS BECOME THE PREFERRED COMPANY FOR MANY OF THE REPAIRS THAT MY HOME NEEDS,  THE COMPANY REMINDS ME OF THE STORY OF THE THREE BEARS, THEY AREN'T THE LEAST EXPENSIVE NOR ARE THEY THE MOST EXPENSIVE , BUT FOR ME THEY SEEM TO BE JUST RIGHT..

Subcontractors questions, answered by experts

Italianate architecture is a reinterpretation of Renaissance styles, combining elements of Italian farmhouses and villas with Victorian materials and construction. This home style emerged in the Victorian era, gaining popularity in the U.S. in the mid-to late-1800s. The style came about in response to what many then viewed as the too-rigid and stuffy Classical style designs.

How long it takes to build an in-law suite will vary by type. The time it takes to build an addition will typically be less than for completely new construction. Expect to spend about two months if you convert a basement, attic, or other existing room in your home. New structures can take up to five months, plus up to two months to receive the required permits.

British architect John Nash is credited with creating the Italianate style of architecture. The style was further popularized in the U.S. by landscape architect Andrew Jackson Downing and architect Calvert Vaux. The style spread across the U.S. due to Downing’s popular book on the style and the availability of plans and materials due to the mass production of the Industrial Revolution.

Make sure you’re getting the right size to meet your space needs, including enough space both side to side and vertically to accommodate your RV’s features and allow you to safely move it in and out of the garage.

If you’re building an attached and enclosed garage for your RV, you’ll also want to give some thought to whether you’d like to add workspace, water or electricity, or additional storage. If so, you’ll need a garage with larger dimensions.

Check reviews, compare quotes, and verify licensing. Ensure the builder has experience with modular construction.
