"While we understand that "pool season" has many service providers in high demand, but so much so that they can't return a phone call? After ten years, we found CPI, and we are delighted. Sean is responsive, professional, fair & friendly. Not only did he repair what needed fixing, Sean also provided us with helpful solutions & recommended some simple things we could do to help us maintain our pool. If we could give additional stars for service we most certainly would do it!"

Hello! My name is Patrick Schlabach. I service pools and hot tubs in Polk County, NC and surrounding areas within 35 miles. I have several clients that I service regularly and have performed multiple successful repairs on their hot tubs. I offer same day service and emergency repair calls. For spas and hot tubs... A basic service(wipe the exterior, cover and exposed shell, clean the filters, skim the water and balance the chemicals, which I can supply at cost or use yours if you prefer) is $50 A maintenance service includes the above as well as removing the access panel and inspecting the entire system for leaks or faulty/worn equipment and costs $75 A complete clean costs $125 includes draining the tub, a complete wipe down and inspection of the jets and other underwater components, cleaning the filters, refilling the tub and balancing the water. Pool Maintenance calls are priced based off the size of pool and specific task. Pool and spa repairs are priced at $45/hr, not including parts or supplies. Same day and emergency calls have a small additional charge based off the circumstance.

Pool and Spa Servicing questions, answered by experts

If your hot tub is well-maintained, covered tightly, and the water is balanced and sanitized correctly, it can remain unused for up to two weeks without significant issues. Beyond this period, the water quality may start to deteriorate, potentially leading to the growth of algae and bacteria. However, it's crucial to note that this timeline can change due to factors like water temperature, sanitation levels, and the quality of your hot tub cover. Regular maintenance and water testing are essential to ensure the water remains safe and clean during periods of inactivity.

If water is left inside the hot tub pump over a cold winter, it could freeze and severely damage the pump, water lines, and jets. That can cause leaks, which require very expensive repairs. Freezing or leftover water can stain and damage the hot tub shell, which leads to replacement. Even in mild climates, leaving sitting water in the tub or pipes for a long period of unuse is a bad idea, since disinfecting chemicals fade and the water can develop bacteria, algae, and other big headaches when it’s time to use the tub again.

You should drain your hot tub three to four times a year to give it a thorough cleaning. This should take about an hour, but it depends on the size of your tub.

It’s less expensive to leave your hot tub on all the time, though you’ll want to keep it at a reduced temperature. How much you use the hot tub is also a factor. You’ll want to keep it at a constant temperature between 80 and 95 degrees Fahrenheit for weekly or daily use, then bump it up right before you get in. If you don’t plan to use your hot tub that often, you can turn it off as long as there’s no risk of freezing.

Unfortunately, a hot tub does use a relatively large amount of electricity. In fact, much of the money you spend on your hot tub will go toward electricity costs to keep the water heated. A typical hot tub will use anywhere from 1,500 to 6,000 watts of electricity per month.
