"We were very happy to find such a gem of a contractor. No money was asked for prior to work starting. Every minute we waited for them to begin was worth it. "Everything went well and the job was done to my satisfaction.  The crew from Wize removed the old gutters and downspouts, then cleaned the fascia and plugged the old mounting holes.  They then installed 6 inch seamless guttering and downspouts. Once the work was done, the crew walked around the house and picked up all scraps and screws.

To calculate how much siding you need for exterior walls, first measure the height and width of the rectangular walls. For the triangular gable walls, measure the width and then the height from the ground to the tallest gable point.

Once you add these up, include an additional 10% to account for any wastage.

While vinyl is the less expensive option, composite siding has been known to be more durable than vinyl. In addition, because it is made from recycled materials, it is a more ecologically-friendly choice. Composite siding is also more luxurious looking and comes in a much wider range of styles and colors.

If you have stucco on the outside of your home, it’s technically considered cladding and not siding, but beyond that, it’s impossible to tell without a little digging. Without damaging the siding material, expose part of it to see if there’s an air gap between the siding and your exterior wall. If there is, you have cladding. If the siding is affixed directly to the exterior wall, you have a simple siding system.

Bleach can be an option if you want to kill mold and mildew clinging to your siding. However, you must water bleach down to the right concentration of a 1/2 cup of bleach per gallon of water to avoid damaging your siding. Bleach can also harm plants in your yard and isn’t safe to use near pets, so employ it with caution.
