Customers say: True professional

"Where to start. I would need 5 pages to describe how absolutely fantastic this company is! From the initial meeting with Eric he was warm, friendly, and kind. Eric explained everything in detail, and made any changes in a timely fashion. Now for the crew. Mike, Dave and Haynes ARE AMAZING! These gentleman showed up EVERYDAY, RAIN OR SHINE, and in freezing temperatures. Their work ethic and diligence truly impressed my husband and I. They took care to communicate and ask us how we would like things done. They also used their creative GENIUS to give us an absolutely beautiful space. We have never had a project go so seamless from start to finish. We not only have a contractor, but have added good friends to our family. Kudos and Blessings to ABI-SON UNLTD LLC!"

"It went amazing. Peter is a very professional, and personable. Not to mention hard working. He does exactly what you want, and listens to what you want. He will give his professional opinion to make sure that's what you want, for example, I wanted no slits between boards on my fence. I wanted complete privacy. Peter reminded of the winds, and that the wind needs some place to go or it will damage your fence. His insight made me realize that what I wanted, might not be the safest, long lasting solution, and if a big weather event happened, I may just lose my fence. I value his expertise. We are so very pleased with the fence. Just wish wood wasn't so expensive, or I'd have a deck by now too. Hire Peter and you won't be disappointed. He's a great communicator to. Always does what he says he's going to do."

"Project went pretty well, but highly recommend you get all work to be done very clearly spelled out in writing for your exacting wants and expectations to avoid any confusions and possible issues. They will continually use the signed agreement to comply with what they do."

"They did a great job! My roof looks great! Reliable and kept me well informed about everything. They kept cost in mind and cleaned up nicely after themselves. Serge even came out late to tarp the roof until it could get repaired so that I didnâ t have any further damage to the house waiting for the roof. They were very nice to work with. Great people. I canâ t say enough good things about them!"

Gazebos questions, answered by experts

Using concrete footers is the best way to secure a gazebo on a deck without drilling. The weight of the footers is more likely to hold your gazebo in place than other methods. You can also pour concrete into flower pots to create an aesthetically pleasing concrete footer or use concrete columns to make a statement.

The main purpose of a gazebo is to provide a covered space for people to gather comfortably. They’re an excellent place for summertime get-togethers because the roof protects you and your guests from the sun. However, gazebos can also serve as a design feature, adding a bit of charm to a backyard or garden.

Several types of porches are available to meet your needs and style preferences. Some common porch types include:

  • Porticos are essentially a roof over a walkway leading to the home's front entrance.

  • Sunrooms are closed-in porches that are an extension of the house with glass or plastic panels that allow optimal sunlight.

  • Wraparound porches extend around the entire home, or at least the front and one side, and offer multiple entrances to the house.

  • Back porches are an extension of the home’s floor into the outdoors. These offer more protection and privacy than a deck.

To make the gazebo accessible, you can build a wheelchair pathway leading up to it. The path should be paved with a smooth surface for wheelchairs to roll through. A low curb should be placed along each side to ensure the wheelchair stays on the path. At the end of the path, build a wheelchair ramp connecting the gazebo.

Yes, many gazebos are permanent structures built onto the land. However, if you have a portable gazebo that isn’t secured to the ground, you’ll want to check the manufacturer’s instructions to understand when to put it away. Generally speaking, when it’s particularly windy or wet outside, you should take down your temporary gazebo.
